NCKU provides free public access to open spaces and green spaces.

Permanent Public Access to Campus Green Spaces
NCKU’s campus green spaces are permanently and freely open to the public. For instance, Banyan Garden in the Kuang-Fu Campus is clearly listed on the Tainan Tourism website as a 24-hour, ticket-free attraction, making it a popular spot for citizens to stroll and picnic. The long-established Banyan Garden Phoenix Art Festival, held at this site, highlights the role of campus green spaces as active public cultural venues.

Virtual Tours and Recreational Facility Information
The university also provides a virtual campus tour, which includes Banyan Garden, Cheng-Kung Lake, the Art Center, and other open spaces, allowing visitors to plan their routes in advance and understand the recreational and sports areas available on campus. In addition, the Physical Education Office publicly posts rental rules and fee standards for campus sports facilities, corresponding to venues shown in the virtual tour such as the swimming pool and covered courts, thereby enhancing overall transparency and accessibility.

Cultural Events and Tourism Value of Green Spaces
Finally, many travel articles feature NCKU’s green spaces as must-visit attractions in Tainan, underscoring their dual value for both local daily life and tourism.

The field is equipped with a running track and wide grass areas, serving not only for students’ physical education courses and athletic training but also as a vital green space for campus communities and local residents. Since its establishment, the field has embodied NCKU’s emphasis on “holistic education,” highlighting the balance between intellectual and physical development. As an open space, it is freely accessible to both university members and the public, fully demonstrating the spirit of shared green spaces. This not only enhances the quality of campus life but also allows community residents to enjoy sustainable and barrier-free green resources.
