NCKU’s Employment Practice Labour Rights

NCKU recognizes labor rights, including the freedom of association and collective bargaining, for all staff members, including women and international staff. The NCKU Teacher Union actively represents faculty members, ensuring that their rights and interests are protected. Additionally, the university promotes inclusivity through initiatives like the Enhancing the Linkage of the International Scholar Community, which fosters support and integration for international scholars .

NCKU also upholds gender equality in the workplace through the Gender Equity Education Committee, ensuring a safe and equitable environment for all employees, including women.

The Labor-Management Meeting provides a formal platform for dialogue between labor and management, further supporting the rights of all staff, regardless of gender or nationality .

The university encourages active participation and feedback through its Suggestion Box System, promoting transparency and engagement across its diverse community.

NCKU Teachers’ Union aims to promote academic exchange, enhance the quality of education, uphold academic independence, protect faculty rights, improve the educational environment, and safeguard member benefits. It actively represents the faculty to ensure that their rights and interests are well protected.

Additionally, NCKU promotes inclusivity through initiatives, like enhancing academic linkages within the international scholar community, which fosters support and integration for international scholars.The enhancing academic linkages within the international scholar community further provide comprehensive support in areas such as visa application, housing, and daily life assistance, helping reduce barriers for international scholars in both work and living, and fostering an inclusive and diverse working environment.

For common questions, NCKU establishes a system for teachers and students to file complaints and raise questions. The letters are forwarded to the responsible administrative units, and units are required to reply to the questioners efficiently to respond to teachers and students.​​​​​​​
