NCKU’s current collaborations with health institutions

A Medical Center Integrating Education, Research, and Clinical Excellence
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) not only collaborates with local, national, and global health institutions, but its College of Medicine also operates an affiliated hospital, directly implementing both basic and clinical medical research while providing comprehensive healthcare services to the public. NCKU Hospital is classified as a “Medical Center,” the highest level of healthcare under Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, responsible for teaching, research, and the treatment of acute and critical patients, and equipped with top-tier emergency facilities.

Cross-disciplinary Collaboration and Innovative Healthcare for Enhanced Well-being
NCKU actively advances global and industry collaborations in health innovation. Leading the NCKU Healthcare Alliance and Southern Taiwan Science and Industry Platform, NCKU showcases achievements in AI precision medicine, smart healthcare, and telehealth at major biotech and medical technology exhibitions. Internationally, NCKU partners with the UK’s National Innovation Centre for Ageing on longevity technology, with Thailand’s Burapha University to build an AI medical alliance, and with Vietnam’s University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City for student and resident exchange. Collaborations with the National Health Research Institutes and Chiayi Chang Gung Hospital further integrate biomedical and information technology, fostering translational research, cancer drug development, and sustainable healthcare innovation.

Through these collaborations, NCKU leverages its expertise and resources to enhance healthcare quality, improve patient well-being, and contribute to the health and welfare of communities and populations worldwide
