Comprehensive Campus Dining Support
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) strengthens campus dining through a comprehensive approach of accessibility, discount support, transparent governance, and social care.

Campus Dining Maps and Governance
The Office of General Affairs consolidates all dining facilities and provides campus maps so faculty, staff, and students can quickly locate dining options. Dormitory cafeterias are managed by the Housing Service Division, supervised by the Health Promotion Section, and operated by the Office of General Affairs under the principle of “reasonable prices and hygiene first,” with links to a Customer Information Portal and Dietary Committee meeting minutes for transparency.

Discounts and Affordable Options
At the same time, NCKU Mall offers faculty-and-staff discounts (e.g., 5% off at 7-Eleven with ID, 5% off for two-person-and-up set meals at Toku Toku/Restaurant brands), helping reduce dining expenses. The NCKU Hospital Employees’ Consumer Cooperative website also compiles the latest vendor deals and contracted partners under “Food & Dining,” providing diverse choices.

Integration of Meals with Activities
Finally, the university often pairs activities with meals—such as the “Donate for Happiness” blood-donation campaign, where successful donors may receive a light meal or meal vouchers for the Kuang-Fu/Ching-Yeh cafeterias—helping prevent hunger among staff and integrating social care.
  1. NCKU dining facilities:

NCKU has established diverse dining and living facilities across its Kuang-Fu, Cheng-Hsing, Sheng-Li, Cheng-Kung, Li-Hsing, Ching-Yeh, and Tzu-Chiang campuses. Dining options include the Staff and Student Consumer Cooperative, Yun-Ping Café, vending machines, the NCKU Mall (BOT), Kuang-Fu and Ching-Yeh dorm cafeterias, Oxy Light Meals, Chun-Chih, and the College of Medicine cafeteria. These facilities provide self-service meals, light meals, coffee and beverages, as well as convenience store services. The distribution map clearly illustrates the allocation of resources across campuses, enhancing accessibility and convenience for faculty, staff, and students in their daily dining.

  1. dormitory cafeterias:

Currently, NCKU has two student dormitory cafeterias, located in the basement of Kuang-Fu Dormitory No. 2 (Kuang-Fu Cafeteria) and Ching-Yeh Dormitory No. 1 (Ching-Yeh Cafeteria). Their daily operations are managed by the Housing Service Division, while the Health Division oversees hygiene supervision, and the Office of General Affairs is responsible for facility maintenance and procurement. Through the coordinated efforts of multiple units, the university ensures smooth cafeteria operations and maintains food safety

  1. NCKU Mall – 2024 discounts for faculty, staff, and students:
The NCKU Shopping Mall brings together a variety of vendors and offers discounts for students and faculty. Benefits include a 5% discount at convenience stores, dining discounts at restaurants, and a 5% cash discount at coffee shops. Most offers run until the end of 2024, with some provided on an irregular basis. By partnering with vendors to provide these discounts, the university helps reduce daily expenses for students and staff, demonstrating its commitment to their well-being.

  1. NCKU Hospital Employee Consumer Cooperative:
The NCKU Hospital Staff Consumer Cooperative website features a “Food and Dining” section that regularly announces partner restaurants and discount offers. Partner businesses include both local eateries and nationwide chains, such as hot pot, teppanyaki, tea shops, and Yirenkan restaurants, with promotions running through various months of 2025. This platform not only provides students and hospital staff with convenient access to discounts but also connects a wide range of dining options, helping to reduce daily expenses. Moreover, it fosters collaboration between the university and local businesses, reflecting NCKU’s commitment to promoting convenient living and food safety benefits

  1. Free meal offers for faculty, staff, and students who donate blood:
On April 24, 2024, NCKU held the “Donate Happiness – Blood Donation Event” at the plaza in front of the Dormitory Services Division on the Sheng-Li Campus. Participants were required to bring their student ID and personal identification, and to pay attention to diet and physical conditions before donating. Successful donors received a 7-Eleven gift card, meals, and opportunities in a raffle, with prizes including additional gift cards and vouchers. Dormitory meal coupon points were also awarded. Organized by the Dormitory Services Division in collaboration with the Student Association and partner vendors, the event reflected the university’s active commitment to promoting public welfare and health care.
