In 2024, NCKU strengthened its commitment to sustainability education by enhancing students’ understanding and application of key concepts related to net-zero transformation. As the Southern Regional Training Center of Taiwan’s Net-Zero Green Collar Talent Development Alliance, NCKU partnered with eight southern universities to promote the Net-Zero Green Talent Training Program. The curriculum covered topics such as climate change, greenhouse gas management, carbon inventory, and carbon footprint, taught by experts from government, industry, and academia. Participants—including NCKU students and professionals—learned to integrate sustainability thinking into practical solutions and policy implementation. The program emphasized both theory and hands-on experience through case studies and exercises on carbon pricing mechanisms, emission tracking, and reduction strategies. Graduates who passed the assessment received official certification from the Ministry of Environment, recognizing them as certified “green collar” professionals.
