Facilitated by NCKU Yushan Scholar Takashi Gojobori, the partnership focuses on joint research, faculty visits, student exchanges, credit recognition, and co-hosted seminars in biological sciences and agricultural technology. Representatives included NCKU Dean Ju-Min Wang and University of Tokyo Professor Nina Yasuda. Both institutions aim to combine their research strengths, promote interdisciplinary talent cultivation, and address global sustainability challenges through long-term academic collaboration.
- NCKU CHASS × Taiwan Sugar × CGCH Foundation for Education Sign MOU on Tainan Agriculture and Human Rights
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) CHASS, Taiwan Sugar Corporation, and the CGCH Foundation for Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on Tainan’s agriculture, food education, and human rights. The initiative integrates academic resources, industry strengths, and historical archives—including a donation of Taiwan’s Farmers' Movement research—to build an AI-powered database. By promoting transitional justice and local engagement, the partnership aims to advance university social responsibility, deepen historical education, and foster community development.
- The 2025 USR International Forum, “Reframe in Progress: USR Toward the Future”, kicks off at NCKU
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) hosted the "Reframe in Progress: USR Toward the Future" International Forum on August 7, 2025. The event gathered nearly 100 participants and scholars from Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia to exchange strategies on University Social Responsibility (USR). Key discussions focused on addressing pressing societal challenges, including population aging, health promotion, regional revitalization, and community co-creation. By sharing insights from interdisciplinary initiatives like rural education support and age-friendly environments, NCKU aims to strengthen transnational higher education networks and build a sustainable East Asian collaborative community.
