National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) made its debut at the Tainan Rainbow Parade on March 15, advancing gender equality and inclusivity. Organized by the Counseling and Wellness Services Division and the Gender Equity Education Committee, NCKU’s participation follows positive feedback from previous pride events. The initiative received strong praise from alumni for the university's ongoing commitment to diversity. By joining the event, NCKU aims to foster an inclusive campus environment while inviting the public to collectively advocate for gender equality and support LGBTQ+ rights within the local community.
- You Are Not Alone in Gender Diversity – The 11th Tainan Pink Dot Kicks Off
The 11th Tainan Pink Dot was held at National Cheng Kung University to advocate for gender diversity and combat homophobia. Co-organized with groups like the Garden of Hope Foundation, the event featured interactive booths, market stalls, and performances to engage students. In her opening speech, NCKU Library Director Tzu-Fun Fu highlighted that gender diversity offers a valuable opportunity to foster empathy and learn about different communities. Rooted in a 2007 Canadian student anti-bullying initiative, Pink Dot continues its global mission of promoting inclusivity and equality across university campuses.

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) concluded its 114th Gender Forum series on June 7 with a inspiring keynote address by Han-Chang Chen, widely known as Taiwan’s "Most Beautiful Prosecutor". Co-hosted with The Garden of Hope Foundation, the event featured Chen’s candid reflections on navigating four decades of gender uncertainty before fully embracing her authentic self. Her emotional and transparent presentation deeply moved attendees, sparking an engaging Q&A discussion and inspiring audience members to stay behind for photos, as NCKU continues to actively champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across its campus community.- “SuperGirls in STEM”: NCKU and Micron Technology Join Forces to Inspire the Next Generation of Women in Science
National Cheng Kung University’s Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing partnered with Micron Technology to host the "SuperGirls in STEM" event on July 28 at the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute. Welcoming 40 students from National Tainan Girls' Senior High School, the initiative aimed to spark young women's interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program offered participants hands-on cleanroom tours, interactive experiments, and career sharing sessions. By bridging academic resources with industry insights, the event empowered high school girls to explore semiconductor careers and inspired the next generation of female innovators.
- International Transgender Day of Remembrance — NCKU Lights Up in Hope That a Gender-Diverse Society Will Replace Prejudice with Understanding
On November 20, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) hosted its 12th annual Candlelight Vigil for International Transgender Day of Remembrance at the Kuang-Fu Campus Student Activity Center plaza. Over 50 students, faculty, staff, and community members gathered in the cool autumn evening, holding candles to express support and solidarity for gender diversity. The ceremony aimed to honor lives lost, raise public awareness about transgender experiences, promote mutual understanding across society, and replace prevailing gender prejudices with empathy, inclusivity, and ongoing educational engagement to build a more respectful community.
