NCKU’s childcare facilities for staff and faculty

Accessible Lactation Rooms
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) provides free and easily accessible lactation rooms within campus buildings. The university has also implemented comprehensive maternity and paternity leave policies, aiming to ease parenting responsibilities for faculty and staff while safeguarding women’s workplace rights.

On-Campus Kindergarten for Employees
To allow faculty to focus on work without worrying about childcare, NCKU has established a private on-campus kindergarten for employees. Approximately 100 children aged 2 to 5 are admitted each year. The facilities are well-equipped, the environment is friendly, and the on-campus location is convenient for parents, providing high-quality services at reasonable costs.

NCKU provides free and accessible lactation rooms within campus buildings. NCKU  has also implemented comprehensive maternity and paternity leave policies, with the aim of reducing the parenting burden on faculty and staff while protecting the rights of women in the workplace.




 
NCKU is committed to building a gender-friendly campus, with particular care for pregnant female faculty and staff and those with childcare needs by providing diverse support measures. NCKU offers free access to breastfeeding rooms and has developed a Gender-Friendly Facilities Map that clearly marks the locations of breastfeeding rooms, all-gender restrooms, priority parking spaces for women and children, and sanitary pad vending machines, ensuring faculty and staff can easily access resources on campus.


 
  1. Admission Guidelines for NCKU Private Kindergarten in 2024  
The NCKU Private Kindergarten in Tainan, affiliated with NCKU, announces its 2024 admission for children of faculty and staff. The kindergarten is dedicated to providing a safe, healthy, and joyful environment that nurtures character, independence, and diverse learning. Its curriculum integrates arts, language, and exploratory activities to inspire children’s potential. With professional teachers and ample educational resources, the kindergarten fosters strong collaboration between parents and educators, ensuring children grow happily in a caring and supportive atmosphere.





 
  1. NCKU Staff Children's Kindergarten transformed into a non-profit kindergarten.  
In the meantime, to enable the faculty to be focused on the work without worrying about children, NCKU established a private kindergarten for the employees, approximately 100 children from 2 to 5 years old are admitted every year. Facilities are complete, environments are friendly, and the location of the kindergarten, which is in NCKU, is convenient for parents, whose children can enjoy high-quality services with reasonable payment.


 
  1. NCKU Personnel Office – Infant Care Information Section  
The NCKU Personnel Office’s Infant Care Information Section consolidates childcare policies, enrollment handbooks, fee schedules, and FAQs for faculty, staff, and parents. It also publishes the latest admission notices, event announcements, and volunteer recruitment information, improving transparency and helping families access practical childcare guidance.
