Mentorship Program
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) actively promotes a mentorship program to provide personalized guidance to students facing academic or personal challenges. Mentors, typically experienced faculty members, offer professional advice and support to foster students’ academic and career development.

Career Coach Program
In addition, NCKU has introduced a Career Coach Program open to all students, including female students, providing career guidance and counseling. This program helps students understand workplace challenges, career paths, and the skills required for success. In 2023, 36% of participants in career counseling activities were female, reflecting strong engagement from women in professional development initiatives.

Gender-Themed Film Screenings
Furthermore, NCKU frequently hosts gender-themed film screenings to showcase diverse gender cultures, helping to highlight alternative voices and needs beyond mainstream societal values, thus fostering a gender-friendly atmosphere.

Counseling and Wellness Services
NCKU’s Counseling and Wellness Services Division offers professional psychological counseling to support students in managing stress and emotional challenges. Between 2023 and 2024, 60% of students receiving counseling were female. These programs reinforce NCKU’s commitment to creating an inclusive, equitable learning environment that enhances female student participation and success.
 
  1. NCKU Implementation Guidelines for the Mentorship System
NCKU actively promotes a mentorship program to provide individual guidance and support to students who seek advice when facing challenges in their academic and personal lives. The mentorship program outlines the roles and responsibilities of mentors and students in detail. Mentors are typically experienced faculty members who guide students in their academic and professional development, offering advice and support.








 
  1. NCKU Hosts 2024 Global Women in Science Breakfast, Focusing on Inclusion and Diversity in the Scientific Community  
First, at the 2024 Global Women's Breakfast (GWB), NCKU actively promoted female participation in scientific fields and the development of disciplines where they are underrepresented. In addition, participants of the “Wu Chia-Li Women Chemists Career Development Grant” shared their experiences, highlighting how the Mentor–Mentee system supports female scientists with professional guidance, emotional support, and career development advice. Overall, through this event, NCKU encouraged female scientists to break gender barriers and enhanced the visibility and participation of women across various fields.
 
 
  1. Professor Yi-Ling Chang from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NCKU was awarded the "Engineering Professor Award" by the Kaohsiung Chapter of the Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2024.  
Professor Yi-Ling Chang from NCKU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering received the 2024 "Engineering Professor Award" from the Kaohsiung Branch of the Chinese Institute of Engineers. She is dedicated to teaching, promoting science, and nurturing female STEM talent through initiatives like high school science camps. Her accomplishments highlight NCKU’s support for women in STEM leadership and promote the growth and excellence of women in academia and industry.
 
 
  1. The 4th Women in Technology Conference 2024 was held at NCKU, shaping the diverse faces of technology with love and dreams.  
The 4th Women in Technology Conference was held on January 9, 2024, at National Cheng Kung University, bringing together academic and industry leaders to discuss gender equality, female leadership, and inclusive workplaces, as well as strategies for balancing work, family, and public service. President Tsai Ing-wen, in a video address, thanked the Taiwan Women in Science and Technology Association, encouraged young women to pursue technology careers, and highlighted the importance of female talent in strengthening Taiwan’s global competitiveness and fostering a diverse future.

Furthermore, NCKU pays attention to students' mental health and counseling needs. The Counseling and Psychological Services team offers professional psychological counseling and support services, aiding students in overcoming stress and emotional challenges.
