National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) consistently monitors the graduation rates of female and male students. In accordance with the Ministry of Education regulations, the university upholds principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality in admissions for all students. Additionally, NCKU offers dedicated research programs for women in technology to encourage their engagement in research.

According to NCKU statistics, the number of female graduates increased from 2,192 in the 2022 academic year to 2,333 in 2023 and 2,375 in 2024. NCKU continued to increase women’s participation in higher education. The proportion of female students university-wide increased from 35.9% to 37.6%. Among bachelor’s degree programs, the five departments with the largest numbers of female students were, in order, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, Department of Medicine, Department of Law, Department of Architecture, and Department of Psychology. These fields span the humanities, medicine, law, design, and social sciences, demonstrating female students’ broad participation in higher education across diverse professional fields and applying their professional knowledge after graduation.- NCKU Distinguished Alumni
NCKU continues to track the achievements of its alumni, including Academicians of Academia Sinica and university presidents in Taiwan and abroad, and recognizes outstanding alumni through the “Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award.” Notable female alumni include Li-Min Lee, a graduate of the Department of Accountancy and Chairman of the NCKU NorthAmerica Alumni Foundation, Inc., and Shu-Tzu Chen, a graduate of the Graduate Institute of Political Economy who served as Minister of Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan.
