Anti-Discrimination and Whistleblower Protection
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) has established an Anti-Discrimination and Equality Policy, which includes explicit protections for whistleblowers. Responsible university units must keep whistleblowers’ identities and personal information confidential, and individuals who are reported are prohibited from retaliating, acting unfairly, or oppressing the whistleblower. When filing a report, only a brief description of the incident is required, and the anonymity of the individuals involved should be maintained by withholding surnames, genders, and ages.
Disciplinary Guidelines for Gender Equity Violations
NCKU has also implemented the Disciplinary Guidelines for Offenders of the Gender Equity Education Act, ensuring that individuals who commit sexual assault, sexual harassment, or sexual bullying undergo mandatory counseling and comply with disciplinary actions.
Legal Protection and Safe Campus Environment
The policy explicitly guarantees that anyone who suffers educational or employment disadvantages due to reporting discrimination will be legally protected. By safeguarding whistleblowers’ rights and preventing retaliation, NCKU aims to foster a safe, just, and inclusive campus environment, encouraging all members to report discriminatory behavior without fear.
