NCKU's policies protecting those reporting discrimination

NCKU has established "Anti-Discrimination and Equality Policy." Point six of this policy specifies protections for whistleblowers. Responsible units within the university are obligated to keep the identities and personal information of whistleblowers confidential. The individuals reported are also prohibited from engaging in retaliatory, unfair, or oppressive actions against the whistleblower due to the related case. Additionally, in accordance with NCKU's guidelines, when making a report, Just provide a brief description of the incident while ensuring the anonymity of the individuals involved by withholding their surnames, genders, and ages.

Furthermore, NCKU has implemented the "National Cheng Kung University Disciplinary Guidelines for Offenders of the Gender Equity Education Act." These guidelines ensure that individuals who have committed sexual assault, sexual harassment, and/or sexual bullying are required to undergo mandatory counseling and comply with any disciplinary actions.

NCKU's policy explicitly states that anyone who experiences any form of educational or employment disadvantage due to reporting discrimination will be legally protected. This means that whistleblowers will not suffer losses or retaliation for their courage in exposing discriminatory behavior.

The implementation of this policy aims to create a safe and just campus environment, encouraging all members to bravely report instances of discrimination while ensuring their rights are effectively protected.
