NCKU complies with the Environmental Protection Administration's "Effluent Standards" and addresses the Ministry of Education's plan for pollution prevention on school campuses by establishing national waste treatment facilities. We have campus-wide policies for wastewater management, including laboratory wastewater, overseen by the Center for Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Protection to optimize water usage.
NCKU's buildings and laboratories have guidelines for regulated drainage quality.
Laboratory Wastewater: NCKU has regulations in place for laboratory wastewater, covering classification, storage, and disposal. These regulations include processes for "Laboratory Wastewater Classification," "Laboratory Waste Liquid Cleanup," "Wastewater Disposal Guidelines," and the "Sustainable Environment Experimentation Institute - Resource Recovery Plant." These regulations are overseen by the NCKU Environmental Health and Safety Center.
Domestic and Rainwater: NCKU has eight treatment facilities and fifteen water intake points. Collected rainwater and wastewater are used to irrigate campus plants, minimizing water waste.
