NCKU’s elected representation
The NCKU Student Election Commission is responsible for overseeing student elections and opinion surveys at NCKU. It manages the election processes for positions such as the Student Council President and Vice President, college student representatives, student representatives in university affairs meetings, presidents and vice presidents of certain department student associations, as well as graduate student association presidents and representatives. The commission aims to enhance students’ understanding and participation in public affairs, embodying the spirit of student self-governance.
Student Clubs Management and Resource Integration
The NCKU Student Clubs Union, formerly the student activity center management department, is one of the university’s earliest established student self-governance organizations with over twenty years of history. As the umbrella organization managing student clubs, its president and vice president are directly elected by all members. Internally, the union represents student clubs to the university, protecting their rights and providing services such as club property rental and venue management. Externally, it acts as a liaison with government agencies and businesses to secure external resources and facilitates exchanges with other universities.
Staff and Student Welfare through Cooperative Economics
The NCKU Staff and Students Consumer Cooperative is a nonprofit organization composed entirely of university staff and students. Founded on principles of self-reliance and mutual assistance, it operates consumer cooperative businesses aimed at enhancing the welfare of all staff and students. The cooperative provides daily necessities and student supplies to meet members’ daily needs, and it also purchases office equipment for shared use. Its purpose is to fulfill the common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations of its members.

The NCKU Student Association Union is a student self-governance organization that oversees student club affairs. Internally, it represents student clubs in safeguarding their rights with the university. The president and vice president are directly elected by all members during the Club Representatives Assembly at the end of the second semester each academic year, ensuring that the leadership is democratically chosen. Additionally, information about the elected officers is published on the website for reference by the entire student body.- NCKU Staff and Students Consumer Cooperative - Member Representative Election
The representatives of the NCKU Staff and Student Cooperative are elected by its members. To enhance diversity and representation, the representatives are categorized into teaching and research staff, administrative staff, and students (with three student representative seats guaranteed based on election results). The remaining seats are filled according to the number of votes received, ensuring that the rights and interests of all groups on campus are protected.
