NCKU’s Students' Union
The Student Association serves as a vital bridge between students and the university, actively safeguarding student rights and representing the interests of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) students. All enrolled students automatically become members of the association, which is organized according to academic levels to ensure broad representation across the student body. The association is led by a president with a one-year term, and members are selected based on their representativeness, leadership abilities, and commitment to promoting student welfare.

Guided by the principles of SDG16, the Student Association is committed to promoting inclusive, transparent, and accountable governance within the campus. It provides a structured platform for students to express their opinions, participate in decision-making, and engage in meaningful dialogue with university administrators. Internal departments are established according to the university’s specific needs, ensuring that operations are closely aligned with the interests of the student body.

The association’s constitution and operational guidelines must be reviewed and approved by the Office of Student Affairs, and any structural modifications require formal approval from the Student Affairs Committee. This oversight mechanism ensures that the association operates fairly, transparently, and responsibly, reinforcing institutional capacity, upholding the rule of law, and promoting participatory decision-making.
Through these systems and governance mechanisms, the Student Association not only protects student rights but also fosters a culture of democratic participation, transparent governance, and institutional accountability, contributing to a peaceful, just, and inclusive campus environment.
