NCKU’s policy towards sustainable use, conservation and restoration of land
NCKU provides accurate knowledge and operational guidelines for planting, protecting, and nurturing trees to create a green campus. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's "Campus Tree Planting and Maintenance Handbook," The handbook encompasses pre-construction tree improvement processes, tree species selection, tree planting methods, environmental management for tree growth, common mistakes, tree structure, and strategies for addressing issues related to diseases and pests. The handbook aims to serve as a tool for campus beautification and maintenance, and NCKU will ensure the sustainable growth of trees within the campus by the tool book.
Regarding natural resources, NCKU has established "Guidelines for the Adoption of Campus Green Beautification" to plan green beautification adoption sites for students and faculties. These adoption sites are maintained with a focus on eco-friendliness and low-carbon ecology, allowing for the sustainable use of green spaces on campus.
In terms of social engagement, NCKU has highlighted important themes in its university social responsibility report, including eco-friendly agriculture, sustainable urban and rural area development plan, and the actions of the circular economy.
