Women's access schemes
NCKU implements various programs and institutional measures to support and protect women's access to higher education. In 2025, NCKU collaborated with Lam Research Corporation to organize the “Lam Research Thesis Award and Outstanding Science Scholarship,” with at least one scholarship reserved for a female master's student. NCKU also actively encouraged faculty and research personnel to participate in the “STEM Field and Female R&D Talent Training Program for Universities and Colleges.” A total of five faculty members participated, with 132 students taking part in related courses or research, including 71 female students. Through research and training opportunities, the program supports women's participation in STEM education and research and promotes their professional development.Beyond STEM fields, NCKU has established a student mentoring system to provide academic and career development guidance. NCKU's Counseling and Wellness Services Division also provides mental health support and related activities. NCKU additionally provides maternity leave and menstrual leave to reduce the impact of childbirth and health-related needs on students' ability to continue their education. Furthermore, across its seven campuses, NCKU provides lactation rooms, sanitary pad vending machines, gender-inclusive restrooms, and family-friendly parking spaces, further supporting the reproductive and family needs of female students, faculty, and staff.
- 2025 Lam Research Thesis Award and Outstanding Science Scholarship
To encourage graduate students to pursue semiconductor research, NCKU partnered with Lam Research Corporation to establish the “Lam Research Thesis Award and Outstanding Science Scholarship.” At least one scholarship is reserved for a female master’s student, supporting women’s participation and career development in technology. NCKU actively promotes STEM research and fosters a women-friendly environment for learning and research. - National Cheng Kung University Regulations for the Implementation of the Mentor System
NCKU has established a student mentoring system that provides individualized academic, professional, and career guidance. - National Cheng Kung University Regulations for Student Leave of Absence
NCKU provides Regulations for Student Leave of Absence, including maternity and menstrual leave, to address students’ reproductive and health needs. Maternity leave covers prenatal, childbirth, breastfeeding, and paternity leave. These measures help minimize the impact of such needs on students’ continued participation in learning.

- NCKU Gender-Friendly Campus Facilities
NCKU provides breastfeeding rooms, sanitary pad vending machines, and gender-friendly restrooms for students and staff, supporting pregnancy and fostering an inclusive campus environment. In addition, designated family-friendly parking spaces are available across seven campuses for pregnant faculty, staff, and students, further promoting a gender-friendly campus.
