Faculty members at National Cheng Kung University have actively participated in public affairs and served as committee members in various governmental agencies. In the past year, there are a total of eighty faculty members who have participated in committees in local and national governments. Please see the link regarding the list. By participating in governmental committees, faculty members at National Cheng Kung University have provided expert advice to both local and national governments. For example, many faculty members at National Cheng Kung University are appointed by the Tainan City Government to serve as committee members for the Environmental Impact Assessment Review Committee and are responsible for environmental issues in Tainan. Besides, a professor of political science at National Cheng Kung University serves as the commissioner of the Central Election Commission in Taiwan and helps improve the electoral system and handle the voting and electoral affairs.
