NCKU’s Employment Practice Unions

To support employment practice unions and uphold labor rights — including freedom of association and collective bargaining for all staff, regardless of gender or nationality — NCKU has taken proactive measures. The university encourages faculty and all employees, including women and international staff, to actively participate in or join labor unions to protect and advocate for their rights. In accordance with the Educational Fundamental Act, NCKU regularly convenes meetings with supervisors to ensure the effective implementation of the NCKU Teachers’ Association’s principles and values. The Association is dedicated to improving the quality of education, safeguarding teachers’ labor rights, and promoting their freedom of expression.

To support employment practice unions and recognize unions and labor rights, including freedom of association and collective bargaining, for all, including women and international staff, NCKU has taken proactive steps. NCKU encourages teachers and all staff, including female and international staff, to actively engage in or join faculty unions to protect and uphold their faculty rights.
 
 
  1. NCKU Teachers’ Union
 
In line with the Educational Fundamental Act, The NCKU Teachers' Union consistently convenes meetings with supervisors to ensure the implementation of the NCKU teachers’ union's principles and values. The NCKU Teachers' Union is dedicated to enhancing the quality of education and safeguarding the labor rights of teachers, as well as advocating for their freedom of expression.




 
  1. NCKU Directions on the Contracted Labor Rights Team
 
NCKU places great importance on protecting faculty rights and establishing faculty unions. NCKU has established the "Task Force for the Protection of Contracted Labor Rights," which is dedicated to safeguarding the rights of contracted workers, ensuring their working conditions and compensation comply with regulations, and upholding their fundamental rights.









 
  1. NCKU Faculty Grievance Review Committee Organization and Review Guidelines

Additionally, to protect the faculty' s rights to file grievances, NCKU has established the "Teacher Grievance Review Committee," which is responsible for handling complaints related to teaching, work environment, and other aspects. The committee conducts reviews according to relevant regulations to ensure that faculty voices are heard and addressed fairly. These measures demonstrate NCKU’s commitment to faculty rights by establishing sound systems that safeguard their basic rights and dignity in the workplace. At the same time, this also reflects NCKU’s recognition of the necessity and support for teachers’ union, providing stronger protection and support for faculty members.
