National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Declaration on Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Discrimination clearly expresses the university’s firm commitment to respecting diversity, ensuring equity, and opposing all forms of discrimination. Through policies, committees, and administrative regulations, NCKU implements fairness and respect, promotes academic freedom alongside responsible expression, and collaborates with the community to advance sustainable development and social responsibility, fostering a harmonious, respectful, and equitable environment for learning and work.
NCKU is committed to creating a good working environment that emphasizes equality and opposes any form of discrimination. Gender, race, language, religion, party affiliation, place of residence, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, and disability are prohibited as conditions of recruitment and promotion following the “National Cheng Kung University Anti-discrimination and Gender Equality Policy”.
To this end, NCKU has formulated various employment policies to prevent discrimination in the workplace. Specifically, NCKU established the Gender Equity Education Committee, which aims to promote gender equality and create a gender-friendly campus. The committee is divided into four working groups, including administration, education, prevention, and campus safety. If employees face gender discrimination, they can appeal to the committee.
