MAAEA Co-Creates a New Paradigm for Digital Learning, Winning Accolades at an International Conference
International Sharing and Global Co-Learning: The Infinite Possibilities of Digital Learning
This conference focused on three main themes: “Training and Development of Digital Learning Competencies for Teachers and Students,” “Advancing and Modeling University Alliance Courses,” and “International Sharing and Global Co-Learning in Digital Learning.” Jhy-Wei Shin, Director of the NCKU Center for Continuing Education, served as the curator for “International Sharing and Global Co-Learning.” He designed a series of activities featuring curriculum restructuring and design, leveraging the alliance schools' collaboration with New Southbound countries to promote curriculum dissemination and international exchange, injecting a global perspective into digital education.
Medicine, Agriculture, Arts, and Engineering Alliance: Booth Highlighting Inter-University Collaboration
The "Medicine, Agriculture, Arts, and Engineering Alliance" booth was a major highlight of the forum, co-curated by six universities, and showcased the outstanding achievements of each institution in digital course design. National Cheng Kung University presented the development of the "Three-Part Long-Term Care" textbook from the first phase of the project; National Chung Hsing University displayed innovative designs for a small aquaponics system; I-Shou University demonstrated the application of 3D modeling technology in education. The booth not only embodied the spirit of collaboration within the alliance but also provided rich learning examples that attracted many participants to engage and exchange ideas.
Achieving Excellence: Best Paper Award and Annual Teaching Case Award
At the conference, Jhy-Wei Shin, Director of the NCKU Center for Continuing Education, won the “Best Paper Award” for the design of a digital course titled “Observation of Plant Morphology and Structure,” which employs a design-thinking approach, demonstrating NCKU’s professional expertise in digital course design. Additionally, NCKU collaborating instructor Rui-Ning Su, Director of the Nursing Department at Tainan Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, won the “Annual Teaching Case Award” in the "Special Interest Group Presentation for Collaborative Teachers" category for her course "Elderly Care Made Easy," highlighting the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in digital learning.
Looking Ahead: Deepening Cooperation to Forge a New Era in Education
National Cheng Kung University will continue to deepen its commitment to digital education, integrating resources within and beyond the university to promote international sharing and global co-learning, establishing a new paradigm for innovative applications and digital transformation in university education. At the same time, NCKU will work hand in hand with the members of the "Medicine, Agriculture, Arts, and Engineering Alliance" to advance more inter-university collaboration projects, opening up new possibilities for digital education in Taiwan.
The "Medicine, Agriculture, Arts, and Engineering Alliance," formed by six universities, is dedicated to deepening and implementing digital learning. From December 13 to 14, the NCKU delegation participated in the "2024 ELOE e-Learning International Conference & Open Education Forum" in Taichung, showcasing the fruitful results of inter-university collaboration.
