NCKU Students Win Gold and Best Team Awards in the Judicial Yuan’s 114th University Legal Education Innovation Competition
The team “Ao-Tou Special Task Force,” composed of NCKU students Ying-Cheng Wu (吳映澄) (Law), Yi-Ying Liu (劉羿瑩) (Law), Hsiao-Pin Chiu (邱筱斌) (Law), Yi-Ting Su (蘇弈庭) (Law), Liang-Yu Chen (陳亮宇) (Information Management), Yin-Chih Li (李胤馳) (Urban Planning), and Liang-Sheng Yuan (袁良盛) from another university, won the Gold Award with their project titled “Plan to Improve Pedestrian Conditions under Tainan Arcade Buildings.” The judges praised the project for being rooted in real-life experience, presenting clear questions, providing comprehensive analysis, and proposing a feasible pilot plan. They noted that all team members demonstrated strong understanding of the issue, fully embodying the integration of legal education with public policy practice.
Additionally, the team “Professor, Please Save Me,” composed of NCKU Law student Mu-Rou Lin (林牧柔) and six students from other universities — Shih-Hong Liao (廖士閎), Yu-Hua Kuo (郭育驊), Ri-Sen Li (李日森), Cheng-Lin Sung (宋承霖), Jun-Rou Kuo (郭均柔), and Chen-Yuan Chen (陳振元) — won the Best Team Award for their project “Issues of Child and Adolescent Online Sexual Exploitation and Information Privacy Protection in the Digital Era in Taiwan.” Through cross-disciplinary collaboration, the team integrated legal, technological, and social perspectives, demonstrating excellent teamwork and problem-solving capabilities, earning high recognition from the judges.
Both teams were advised by Associate Professor Wan-Ju Yeh (葉婉如) (Law, NCKU). The students showcased outstanding professional skills and team collaboration, combining legal expertise with practical observation to analyze public issues and propose concrete, feasible action plans, reflecting the effectiveness of NCKU’s cross-disciplinary education.
The “University Legal Education Innovation Action Plan Competition” is organized by the Judicial Yuan and executed by the Foundation for Civic and Legal Education. Now in its seventh edition, the competition encourages students to identify public issues in daily life, analyze them, develop practical solutions, and communicate their findings to the general public, thereby deepening their understanding of liberal democratic constitutional order and the rule of law. The excellent performance of NCKU students in this edition reflects the university’s long-standing commitment to legal education and the cultivation of socially responsible, public-minded talent.
