Czech Technical University in Prague Visits NCKU to Promote Joint UAV Research and Collaboration
On June 1, 2026, Vice Rector for International and Government Affairs Ladislav Krištoufek and Vice Dean for Science and Research of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences Ondřej Jiroušek from Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to engage in academic exchanges on the application scenarios, testing, and field deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies.
NCKU has maintained a strong connection with Czech Technical University in Prague, an institution with a 300-year history in engineering education. The two universities initiated a university-level exchange agreement in 2009, and faculty members and scholars from both sides have maintained close interactions. In recent years, collaboration has further expanded through research partnerships between the University Alliance in Asia for Advanced Technology (UAAT), established under the Ministry of Education’s National Key Fields Industry-University Collaboration Alliance program, and the Czech university alliance, strengthening cooperation in fields including physics and medicine.
Professor Fu-Kuo Yuan, a Yushan Scholar participating in the meeting, previously served as a Visiting Distinguished Professor at Czech Technical University in Prague from 2021 to 2022 and has actively promoted academic collaboration between the two universities. During this visit, the two Czech professors exchanged views with NCKU faculty on UAV technologies, focusing on the design and development, testing, and field deployment of unmanned system technologies and their application scenarios. The discussion is expected to serve as an important starting point for advancing technological cooperation between the two institutions.
