The 27th graduating class of undergraduate students from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE) at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) will hold the “Class of 2027 Undergraduate Capstone Project Exhibition” on June 12. The exhibition will feature 94 project teams, covering diverse fields including computer networks and communications, multimedia and human-computer interaction, data science and biomedical informatics, embedded systems and chip design, as well as software engineering, information security, and smart manufacturing. The projects demonstrate the innovative research capabilities and practical achievements of NCKU CSIE students in cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, generative AI, XR applications, smart healthcare, autonomous systems, and intelligent manufacturing.

The exhibition will begin at 9:00 a.m. on June 12 at the Mouse Hall (Room 65405), 1st Floor of the Information Engineering Building at NCKU. The morning session will include opening remarks, project demonstrations, and evaluations, while the afternoon session will feature project presentations and award ceremonies. Faculty members, students, and members of the public interested in technology and innovation are welcome to attend.

This year’s projects feature a wide range of creative and innovative themes. Among them, “No-Code Game Development: A Generative AI Solution Based on Multi-Agent Collaboration and Diffusion Models” combines large language models and generative AI technologies to lower the barriers to game development, demonstrating the potential of AI-driven content generation. “Unmanned Beverage Station: A Dual-Arm Robot with Vision, Hearing, and Speech Capabilities” integrates visual recognition, voice interaction, and robotic arm control technologies to create an intelligent interactive system with autonomous service capabilities. “Understand You, Starting from Memories — Care4U: An AI Companion System with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for Personalized Elderly Care” applies RAG technology to provide personalized AI companionship services for older adults, highlighting the value of AI applications in elderly care.

Other featured projects include the “Smart Pig Farm Real-Time Monitoring and Abnormal Behavior Detection System,” which uses AI-based image recognition technology to assist livestock farms with real-time monitoring, and “Autonomous Drone Navigation Based on Monocular Depth Estimation and Hybrid Path Planning,” which demonstrates students’ ability to integrate technologies in autonomous vehicles and intelligent control systems.

The exhibition is one of the major annual academic events of the CSIE. Through physical demonstrations, system operation, and on-site presentations, students will showcase the complete development process and outcomes of their capstone projects. The event also invites faculty members and industry experts to serve as judges, evaluating projects based on technical depth, system implementation, innovation, and application value, while promoting interaction and exchange between students and industry professionals.

The exhibition not only highlights students’ four-year learning achievements but also demonstrates the strong foundation of NCKU CSIE in cultivating talent in artificial intelligence and interdisciplinary technologies. The department sincerely welcomes visitors from all sectors to witness the innovative capabilities and future potential of the next generation of information technology professionals.
