The potential for the development and application of artificial intelligence is boundless, and the cultivation of related talents is highly valued. ADAT Technology, a leading developer of AI/AR software, donated the "Generative AI Editing Tool and Smart Glasses Kit" to the College of Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) on September 1st. Both parties plan to jointly offer courses on AI application development using industry-standard equipment in the academic year 112, with the aim of allowing students to gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience in utilizing AI and AR software, thus seamlessly transitioning into the workforce upon graduation.
The donation ceremony featured a video demonstration of how domestic airlines utilize ADAT Technology's AI software for a 360-degree pre-flight inspection. Mr. Kai-Hung Su, the General Manager of ADAT Technology, introduced the features and potential applications of ADAT Technology's AI software and smart glasses to the attendees.
The "Collaborative Industry-Academia Leap Program Donation" ceremony was held at the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at NCKU. Mr. Yu-Yeh Lin, Chairman of ADAT Technology and General Manager of Marketech lnternational Corp, represented ADAT Technology in making the donation, while Dr. Chyan-Deng Jan, Dean of the College of Engineering at NCKU, accepted the donation. Attendees included Mr. Kai-Hung Su, General Manager of ADAT Technology, Ms. Hui-Ching Wang, Sustainability Director of Marketech lnternational Corp, Professor Chih-Yung Wu, Associate Director of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and students and faculty members from various departments interested in AI/AR.
In his speech, Chairman Lin emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities for cooperation that benefit society, industry, and education, and expressed hope that students would excel in their learning one year after the donation.
Dean Jan expressed gratitude to ADAT Technology for donating software and sharing research achievements with NCKU students and faculty to cultivate talent. He noted that ADAT Technology's AI software has applications in many fields and thanked them for leading students to face the challenges of future technological trends.
With AI flourishing and various sectors actively involved in related technology and applications, the advent of ChatGPT in 2022 has further astonished the global community. Recognizing talent as the cornerstone of all endeavors, within NCKU's College of Engineering, integration with AI and AR is possible across the disciplines of mechanical, civil, and materials engineering. In anticipation of the comprehensive AI era, the College of Engineering and ADAT Technology jointly planned the "Collaborative Industry-Academia Leap Program" to empower students to confront future technological trends and challenges.
Under the "Collaborative Industry-Academia Leap Program," ADAT Technology plans to teach NCKU students how to use non-programming AI software through the donated "Generative AI Editing Tool and Smart Glasses Kit" and conduct rapid AI training via the ADB software platform to produce an AI Coach App application. This app can then be accessed via smart glasses by industry users for educational training, assembly of key equipment, maintenance, etc., ensuring rapid and accurate completion of tasks on the first attempt.
The College of Engineering at NCKU and ADAT Technology hope that through a series of industry-academia leap programs, students will learn practical applications of AI in the aerospace and related industries, fostering their development capabilities in AI applications.
