Ling-Ling Chen of Eindhoven University of Technology visited NCKU to sign an MOU and dual Ph.D. agreement.
On November 29, Ling-Ling Chen, the International Director of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to discuss a university-level MOU and dual Ph.D. program, and to visit the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI). The meeting, hosted by NCKU's International Affairs Director Sun-Yuan Xie, included representatives from the Institute of Smart Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing, including Associate Dean Zhen-Su Chen, Director Wei-Li Deng, and other staff.
Since 2022, NCKU and TU/e have been collaborating through a semiconductor summer school exchange. Ling-Ling Chen expressed hopes to finalize the MOU by the end of the year and establish the dual Ph.D. program, with full support from TU/e's President Robert-Jan Smits. Following the meeting, both sides will work on finalizing the agreement details and discuss future collaborative projects.
TU/e, founded in 1956, is ranked 136th in the QS 2025 World University Rankings and 185th in the Times Higher Education 2025 rankings. It is one of the top technical universities in Europe and a member of the EuroTech Universities Alliance.
