To promote the application of artificial intelligence in smart healthcare, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) College of Medicine and ASUS have joined forces. On the 12th, the unveiling ceremony of the "AISVision Intelligent Medical Imaging Innovation Center" was held at the NCKU College of Medicine Library. ASUS donated 10 sets of AISVision software worth a total of 5 million NT dollars to support NCKU in establishing an AI vision application teaching and research platform. Both parties hope to deepen interdisciplinary integration of basic medicine, clinical research, and AI technology through industry-academia collaboration.
Dean Yan-Shen Shan of NCKU College of Medicine expressed deep gratitude for ASUS’s strong support and resource contribution. He noted that the AISVision software not only expands the medical school’s capabilities in medical AI applications but also helps promote forward-looking, diversified development in basic medical research, clinical education, and innovative studies. Dean Shan further emphasized that NCKU College of Medicine is dedicated to developing interdisciplinary smart health technologies. This collaboration, actively facilitated by the Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology, has secured valuable AI resources for faculty and students, exemplifying a concrete partnership between academia and industry to co-create the future.
ASUS Global Vice President Chuan-Te Chang stated that ASUS has long been committed to promoting AI education and industry-academia collaboration. Through this partnership with NCKU College of Medicine, ASUS hopes to simultaneously strengthen and advance research depth and clinical applications of AI vision technology in medical imaging, anomaly detection, and related fields.
The "AISVision Intelligent Medical Imaging Innovation Center" will serve as a vital platform for the interdisciplinary integration of medical education and artificial intelligence, providing faculty and students with a practical environment for applied research. NCKU and ASUS will continue to deepen their collaboration to jointly enhance Taiwan’s international competitiveness in smart healthcare and AI technology.
AISVision software is a computer vision AI toolkit developed by ASUS that supports a no-code environment for rapid model training. It includes core AI algorithms such as image classification, object detection, anomaly detection, segmentation, and tilted object recognition. Additionally, AISVision supports Intel® OpenVINO™ architecture, NVIDIA® GPU acceleration, and mainstream language APIs (C/C++/C#), making it widely applicable in smart healthcare fields such as medical device identification, surgical image analysis, and medical diagnostics.
