NCKU "Love Dimension" Lecture Features Qisda CEO Peter Chen on Leadership-國立成功大學永續發展SDGs

On the afternoon of September 9, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Library held a series of events for its themed book exhibition "LOVE DIMENSION" in the basement auditorium. Peter Chen, an outstanding NCKU alumnus and Chairman and CEO of Qisda Corporation, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "Transformational Leadership: The Leadership Science of Organizational Change." He shared his career path, corporate transformation experience, and leadership philosophy. The event attracted over 120 attendees from both on and off campus, with NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen also present.


In his opening remarks, President Meng-Ru Shen expressed his respect and gratitude to alumnus Peter Chen for his long-standing support of his alma mater with a strong sense of honor and responsibility. As the founding and second-term President of the NCKU World Alumni Association, Chen united 220,000 alumni globally and continuously supported NCKU through the Phoenix Fund, helping the university break through development constraints. President Shen pointed out that honor and responsibility are core elements of leadership, thanking Chen for returning to his alma mater to share his insights.


Focusing on the theme of "Transformational Leadership," Chen discussed organizational transformation, how leaders build consensus, integrate resources, and lead teams forward. He explained execution strategies for organizational change through the concept of the "Grand Fleet and Alliance." He also cited General George S. Patton’s iconic speech to encourage the audience to reflect on how leaders demonstrate influence and drive team transformation in a changing environment.


Drawing from his personal experience, Chen shared insights spanning individual career choices, corporate transformation, and leadership influence, guiding attendees to reflect on "how to face change" and "how to lead a team forward together." The lecture was rich in content and sparked enthusiastic audience interaction. He shared a favorite quote to encourage the audience: "Where there is a will, there is a way." He noted that while one may not know the right answers at the beginning of life, continuous learning and courage in facing change will help individuals gradually find their direction through life's choices.


After graduating from NCKU’s Department of Electrical Engineering, Chen rose from an entry-level engineer to an executive business leader, navigating various career stages and industry transformations. Returning to his alma mater, he drew from his life journey and business experiences to reflect on life’s choices and turning points, sharing the learning attitude and philosophy he maintained along the way.


The "LOVE DIMENSION" themed book exhibition was curated by NCKU Library to explore the connection between "love," individuals, society, and the world from various perspectives through book displays and lecture series. By inviting alumnus Peter Chen back to campus to share his leadership experience, the event provided cross-generational wisdom for the campus community, encouraging faculty and students to keep learning, embrace change, and forge their own paths when facing future uncertainties.
