To enhance the cooperation on technological and vocational education (TVE), NCKU and the Indonesian State Polytechnic Director Forum (FDPNI) have signed a MOU on May 18th, for future cooperation on education, research, and culture exchange.
“More than 3,000 Indonesian students have signed up at NCKU in the past ten years, as a result of the 68 agreements established between NCKU and universities and institutes in Indonesia,” said Dr. Yuh-Neu Chen, Executive Vice President of NCKU. “To promote joint research and exchange of students and faculty, and dual/joint degree programs in the future, we are committed to further expand the connection with Indonesia.
Dr. Yan-Shen Shan, Dean of NCKU College of Medicine, noted that many international students have completed their studies at NCKU and now succeed in a medical career in their home countries.
President Taqwa of FEPNI expressed great interest in the intern programs and dual degrees between NCKU and Indonesia, and further collaboration on engineering programs.
The Indonesian delegation was led by EDPNI President Taqwa and attended by presidents of well-known TVE institutions, including Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya, Politeknik Negeri Bandung and Politeknik Negeri Madiun.
FDPNI is formed by 49 presidents of Indonesian TVE institutions, with significant influence on the development of technological and vocational education in Indonesia.
