M-Power Information Donates Accounting Software to NCKU to Foster Talent and Advance Accounting Field
On April 20th, the Department of Accounting at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) held a signing ceremony for the donation of the "Group Consolidated Report System (GCRS)" by M-Power Information Co., Ltd. Vice President of NCKU, Zhuang Weizhe, and Chairman of M-Power Information, Xu Jinlong, signed the contract, aiming to promote progress and development in the field of accounting through this donation. The collaboration seeks to assist students in accumulating practical experience, professional skills, and competitiveness, enabling them to seamlessly integrate with the industry upon graduation.
M-Power Information Co., Ltd. introduced the "Group Consolidated Report System (GCRS)" in 2010 in response to the Taiwan Stock Exchange's efforts to strengthen corporate governance mechanisms. The software, valued at over NT$2 million, was developed to comply with regulations regarding financial report preparation and review issued by the Taiwan Stock Exchange. By 2022, it had been adopted by 280 domestic listed companies, including companies like SanYang Motor and Farcent Enterprise Corporation.
Vice President Zhuang expressed gratitude for M-Power Information's donation of the software, considering it a significant milestone for both NCKU and M-Power Information. He emphasized NCKU's active promotion of industry-academia collaboration and expressed hope for further cooperation with M-Power Information in the future. While NCKU boasts strong technological research capabilities, there is a need for enhancement in management and cost accounting, which this collaboration aims to address.
Chairman Xu stated that many companies have already digitized their accounting reports using Excel. The GCRS software developed by M-Power Information represents a further step in digital optimization, enhancing data processing efficiency to facilitate better business development or the exploration of new business models. He highlighted the abundance of talent and creativity among students and expressed hope for increased collaboration between the two parties to foster mutual growth and development.
The signing ceremony was attended by M-Power Information's Executive Vice President Chen Xinyi, Vice President of Research and Technology Luo Qingzu, Dean of the College of Management at NCKU Huang Yuxiang, Director of the Department of Accounting Zhou Tingkai, and faculty and students from the Department of Accounting. Following the ceremony, Vice President Luo gave a presentation on the Group Consolidated Report System (GCRS).
Director Zhou Tingkai stated that the donated software would be used for teaching purposes in the upcoming semester. Currently, most accounting courses at NCKU utilize virtual data, with report preparation being more theoretical. With the GCRS software, students will be able to handle tasks such as initial data setup, data collection, data quality audit, execution of consolidation eliminations, and data output, thereby accumulating practical operational experience and understanding advanced accounting issues such as group consolidation eliminations.
The "Group Consolidated Report System (GCRS)" developed by M-Power Information helps companies independently and rapidly generate group consolidated financial statements that meet regulatory reporting requirements, thereby enhancing the quality and transparency of financial reporting information. It also enables companies to analyze group consolidation data at any time, providing multidimensional financial management information.
Founded in 1999, M-Power Information Co., Ltd. was listed on the over-the-counter market in December 2022. The GCRS software received the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) Outstanding Digital Innovation Award in 2019 and has been adopted by over 280 domestic listed companies as of 2022.
