The semiconductor pre-employment training program at NCKU is now open for enrollment from today until June 29th
NCKU's College of Intelligent Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing, in collaboration with the Yunlin-Chiayi-Pingtung Regional Branch of the Ministry of Labor's Labor Development Administration, is offering the "Semiconductor Trends and Process Equipment Theory and Practice Training Course." The first session of the course will run from July 10th to September 28th at NCKU's Ziqiang Campus. Registration is open from today until 5 p.m. on June 29th, and individuals aged 15 and above who are unemployed or seeking employment are welcome to apply. For registration and further details, please visit the Taiwan Employment Service website.
The goal of the training course is to enhance the employability skills of unemployed individuals and specific groups, enabling them to secure employment in the semiconductor industry. Participants are expected to pursue various roles within the semiconductor field, such as semiconductor process engineers, equipment engineers, packaging engineers, technicians, quality inspectors, plating process engineers, product testing engineers, and more.
The College of Intelligent Semiconductor at NCKU aims to cultivate talents in basic semiconductor circuit design, packaging, and testing integration. The course will be taught by NCKU faculty and industry experts, providing participants with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in semiconductor-related areas. The curriculum is designed to help participants gain valuable experience and knowledge directly from professionals, understand and master semiconductor industry-related technologies, acquire cutting-edge semiconductor knowledge, grasp industry trends, and prepare for future career opportunities.
The first session of the "Semiconductor Trends and Process Equipment Theory and Practice Training Course" will accommodate 40 participants and will last for 12 weeks, with a total of 360 hours, including 108 hours of theory and 252 hours of practice. The course content covers semiconductor process overview, semiconductor device physics, semiconductor process technology, semiconductor material analysis, semiconductor electrical measurement analysis, information security, ESG sustainability development, and practical hands-on experience with semiconductor process and measurement equipment. To provide a conducive learning and growth environment and alleviate financial burdens, the course fees will be subsidized by the government by 80%-100%, and participants will also receive living allowances and learning incentives.
The selection process for the "Semiconductor Trends and Process Equipment Theory and Practice Training Course" will be conducted through a screening and training approach, comprising written and oral examinations, each accounting for 50% of the total score. Applicants must achieve a total score of 60 or above to qualify for admission. Additionally, applicants meeting certain criteria, such as involuntary termination under the Employment Insurance Act, specific groups defined under Article 24 of the Employment Services Act, seniors, new immigrants, or victims of sexual assault, will receive a 3% weightage adjustment to their total score. For more information, please refer to the Taiwan Employment Service website.
