2023 NCKU Gender Film Festival and Post-screening Discussion: Exploring the Multiple Facets of Gender
NCKU's 2023 Gender Film Festival, starting from October 18th, will present five documentaries: "Money and Honey," "The War of Roses," "Category: Woman," "Shall We Talk?," and "BRidGE." Additionally, there will be four post-screening discussions featuring directors and professors to delve into the current societal values, attitudes, and issues related to gender. The festival aims to guide participants in understanding the significance of mainstreaming gender, reflecting on the relationship between society and gender, and exploring the multiple facets of gender.
The selected documentaries for the 2023 NCKU Gender Film Festival focus on the situations of foreign female migrant workers in Taiwan, how the sports industry controls women's bodies through gender determination tests, power relations and societal cultural structures reflected in sexual harassment incidents, and the self-identified gender of transgender communities.
The Gender Equity Education Committee at NCKU expresses the hope that this collaboration with the Taiwan Women's Film Association and the Taiwan International Media and Education Association will use film to present diverse perspectives on gender culture. Through these films, they aim to showcase alternative voices and needs beyond mainstream societal values, fostering a more gender-friendly atmosphere.

Time: 18:30-21:00
