Professor Soon-Jyh Chang's team at NCKU has once again been selected to present a technical paper on Innovative High-Resolution
The annual International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) is a flagship event in the global semiconductor circuit design field, bringing together the world's leading semiconductor experts and researchers to share innovative technologies and research achievements. In 2024, ISSCC Taiwan has a total of 16 selected papers, with 9 from academia and 7 from the industry. Among them, NCKU has one selected paper, showcasing its innovative and solid research capabilities on the international stage once again.
Professor Soon-Jyh Chang's team from the Department of Electrical Engineering at NCKU proposed a high-resolution analog-to-digital converter chip with an innovative fully dynamic and extremely low-power loop filter. Compared to similar chips, it leads globally in the comprehensive performance indicators of conversion speed, accuracy, and power consumption. This conversion chip can provide high-quality conversion signals while significantly reducing battery consumption, making it suitable for electronic devices with high energy efficiency requirements, such as portable devices, wearables, and the Internet of Things.
Professor Chang currently serves as the Vice Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at NCKU. He expressed his excitement about having the opportunity to share research results at an important academic conference in the field of integrated circuit (IC) design for two consecutive years. He emphasized the intelligence and diligence of NCKU students and their potential contributions to the world in academic research, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability when equipped with solid foundational knowledge and a pursuit of excellence.
The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society Taipei Chapter (SSCS) held a press conference on November 22, providing an overview of the selected papers and the annual highlights of the 2024 ISSCC. Several experts and scholars, including Chairman Chao-Chun Lu of Etron Technology, were invited to present global trends in the semiconductor industry and key technological developments in Taiwan.
The International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) is held annually in February in San Francisco, USA, attracting numerous top experts worldwide. The theme for the 2024 ISSCC is "ICs FOR A BETTER WORLD," featuring four plenary sessions, six forums, ten tutorials, and an academic-industry exhibition, providing attendees with a unique opportunity for technical exchange with top experts in advanced IC design and applications.
