NCKU Semiconductor Institute Signs MOU with Asia University to Promote Smart Manufacturing and Sustainable Development
On October 16, 2024, the Smart Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing Institute of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Asia University. The partnership aims to integrate resources and jointly promote semiconductor talent development, teaching, and academic research, creating a new model of academic collaboration.
The signing ceremony took place at the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Center of the National Experimental Research Institute on NCKU’s Li-Hsing Campus, with NCKU's Institute Dean, Dr. Yan-Kuin Su, and Asia University President, Dr. Tsai Chin-Fa, personally attending. Representatives from both institutions witnessed this significant moment.
The collaboration will focus on areas such as AI-driven semiconductor design, manufacturing, packaging, and generative AI applications, fostering exchanges in information, faculty, and research. The goal is to strengthen both universities' international competitiveness and create a win-win future. The partnership will also include cross-campus academic research collaboration and joint publications.
Through shared academic resources and industry-academia cooperation, students will have more opportunities to participate in practical research and internships with companies. The combination of NCKU's semiconductor expertise and Asia University's innovative teaching methods will accelerate the development of smart technology applications and talent cultivation. The partnership aims to help industries in central Taiwan advance in areas like smart factories, energy management systems, and low-carbon manufacturing.
