The 5th "Sustainable FinTech" International Forum took place at National Cheng Kung University on November 12
The forum, co-hosted by NCKU's FinTech Business Innovation Research Center and the Sustainable FinTech Industry-Academia Alliance, received support from the National Science and Technology Council and NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen. It also gained collaboration from top international corporations and institutions such as Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank, Mega Financial Holding, and China Development Bank.
In the morning session, NCKU Vice President Yu-Nu Chen and Tainan Deputy Mayor Ze-Shan Ye delivered opening speeches. Ye, attending the forum for the second consecutive year, praised the forum as an important platform for industrial innovation and development. Chen welcomed the guests, highlighting the university’s ongoing commitment to sustainability through the FinTech center’s activities and the impact of this forum in promoting green financial technologies.
One notable session focused on sustainable finance in green architecture, bringing together stakeholders from real estate, finance, Taiwan Architecture Center, and the Ministry of the Interior to discuss collaborative efforts for zero-carbon buildings and green investments.
The FinTech Business Innovation Research Center, established in 2018, is the only Ministry of Education-approved research center dedicated to financial technology. The Sustainable FinTech Industry-Academia Alliance was created in 2023 to further bridge industry, government, and academia in promoting digital finance knowledge and technology. The forum, now a key annual event in southern Taiwan, has successfully grown into a significant platform for discussing ESG and green FinTech topics.
