NCKU AISSM And Global Views Launched The "AI-Driven Leadership Course" With An Opening Ceremony On March 8
The ceremony was opened by Dean Yan-Kuin Su of the NCKU AISSM. He highlighted Taiwan's significant role in the global semiconductor and AI technology sectors. While TSMC’s recent investments in the United States have garnered attention, he emphasized the ongoing importance of continuously improving technology and nurturing talent. To cultivate leadership in senior semiconductor professionals and managers, this course, in collaboration with Global Views - Commonwealth Publishing Group, is specifically designed with 4 core modules tailored to the backgrounds of the participants: Organizational Leadership, R&D and Production Capacity Management, Financial and M&A Strategies, and Organizational and Cross-Cultural Management. Top speakers from the semiconductor, technology, finance, and defense industries will share their wealth of practical experience to help participants strengthen their leadership skills. Dean Su expressed his gratitude to the participants for attending the course during their weekends, with many traveling from the north to the south of Taiwan. He commended their determination and hopes they will gain valuable insights throughout the course.
On the morning of March 8, Charles Kao, the founder of Global Views - Commonwealth Publishing Group, personally traveled south to deliver the opening speech. He called on leaders from all sectors and the public to collectively promote and transform Taiwan into an island of soft power. He emphasized that building a world of soft power should integrate 5 key concepts: an open society, the spread of civilization, the promotion of progress, the persistence of peace, and the widespread of learning. Following the speech, Dr.Charles Kao presented each participant with a signed set of 5 books titled "Building Taiwan as an Island of Soft Power" and the January 2025 issue of Global Views Magazine, which features a special edition on "Leadership Lessons from Morris Chang."
This course is specifically designed for senior executives in the semiconductor industry, blending theory and practice with the goal of helping participants enhance their global perspective and leadership abilities. Since its launch, the course has received a strong response, with approximately 50 participants enrolled. The attendees include those from the NCKU Taiwan Semiconductor Master of Management (TSMM) and the Executive MBA (EMBA) program. The participants are primarily senior managers from the semiconductor and technology industries.
Following the opening ceremony, Sophia Tong, former General Manager of IBM Taiwan and current Independent Director of Acer Cyber Security Inc., served as the first-week course speaker, delivering a lecture on "Transformational Leadership and Practical Strategies for Change." The upcoming sessions will feature a series of distinguished speakers, including Jian-Bang Chen, former Vice President of TSMC, Miin Wu, Founder of Macronix, and Chun-Sheng He, Co-Founder of Advantech Co., Ltd. Additionally, there will be presentations by Pei-Ling Yang , former Marketing Head at Goldman Sachs and Fidelity Japan, Chi-Hong Chen, Chairman of Qisda Group, and Dong-Hui Lu , Chairman of Micron Technology. The lineup also includes Xi-Ming Li, former Chief of General Staff at the Ministry of National Defense, and Ding-Kai Wang, General Manager of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Taiwan and Hong Kong. The "AI-Driven Leadership Course" not only covers corporate management and technological trends but also focuses on how to leverage AI technologies and leadership strategies to address the challenges of globalization. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in deep discussions with industry leaders, gaining insights into key topics such as organizational transformation, technological innovation, financial strategies, and geopolitics. This will help them develop leadership mindsets with international competitiveness.
