Over 10,000 Flock to NCKU for 2025 Southern Taiwan Career Fair, Sparking Job-Hunting Boom with Diverse Opportunities
Vice President of NCKU, Ching-Chang Lee, represented President Meng-Ru Shen at the opening ceremony in the morning, delivering a speech to express gratitude for the strong support of participating companies and co-organizers of the Southern Taiwan Career Fair. He highlighted the growing attention to AI and sustainability issues in recent years. Since President Shen took office two years ago, he has been dedicated to fostering talent in AI and sustainability, including launching interdisciplinary sustainability programs to encourage faculty and students to expand their research across various fields. Additionally, the university has been nurturing students with a balance of aesthetics, resilience, and humanistic literacy, while fulfilling its social responsibility. To better assist students in finding suitable companies and career paths, NCKU also introduced the nation’s only "NCKU FUTURE SUCCESS+ Personalized Career Planning System." This demonstrates NCKU’s commitment to cultivating high-quality students for the benefit of businesses. The theme of this year’s career fair is "Connecting to the Future Workplace, Creating Infinite Possibilities Through Smart Innovation," aiming to collaborate with all sectors to build a high-quality and diverse employment networking platform, creating mutually beneficial opportunities for both students and businesses.
Riding the wave of AI and sustainability trends in recent years, industries are not only undergoing digital transformation but also accelerating their demand for interdisciplinary talent. Manufacturers are seeking not only AI engineers but also professionals capable of integrating AI across management, production, marketing, and system integration. The AI boom has also extended into various service sectors such as finance, education, healthcare, and transportation, making this year’s career fair place even greater emphasis on cross-disciplinary and diverse recruitment. Amid a labor shortage, companies at the fair have launched eye-catching activities at their booths to attract job seekers, including giveaways for social media check-ins, resume-based prize draws, on-site one-on-one resume reviews with HR professionals, and flash talks.
Leveraging the advantage of being a university favored by employers, NCKU co-organized the Southern Taiwan Career Fair with 10 other universities in the southern region, attracting over 10,000 participants each year. From March 13 to 15, 49 company recruitment seminars were held, and on the 16th, the on-site recruitment event ran from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring over 350 company booths. The event drew thousands of job seekers and employers, creating a vibrant job-hunting atmosphere. Some of the largest participating companies included Micron, TSMC, United Microelectronics Corporation, Delta Electronics, AU Optronics, Taiwan International Aeronautical Electronics, Yageo Corporation, Lite-On Technology, and Corning, all of which attracted many job seekers to inquire. To enhance the diversity of recruitment, this year’s career fair saw 158 companies seeking PhD graduates and 164 companies offering job opportunities for international students.
On-site recruiting companies mentioned that, in addition to seeking specialized technical talent, they are also looking for business professionals with ambition. Many Generation Z graduates face uncertainty when entering the job market, but HR representatives from companies shared that as long as individuals have passion, a willingness to learn, and a positive, proactive mindset, the solid training programs offered by companies will help fresh graduates quickly adapt to their roles. They encouraged young students to confidently and boldly take on various positions.
In interviews with students on-site, many expressed excitement about the large number of companies and job opportunities at this year's career fair, saying, "There are so many options that I can’t decide, and I often feel overwhelmed by the choices!" Students from science and engineering fields were actively targeting positions in software and hardware development, process engineering, or equipment engineering. Meanwhile, students from business and management disciplines shared a strong interest in roles related to data analysis, supply chain management, and involvement in human resources or corporate image operations.

Southern Taiwan’s largest recruitment event, the "2025 Southern Taiwan Career Fair," kicked off with great enthusiasm on the morning of March 16 at NCKU’s Kuang-Fu Campus.

This year’s career fair is themed “Connecting to the Future Workplace, Creating Infinite Possibilities Through Smart Innovation,” aiming to collaborate with all sectors to build a high-quality and diverse platform for employment networking and matchmaking.

Students from science and engineering, business, and management disciplines all participated in the "2025 Southern Taiwan Career Fair," and the recruiting companies also warmly welcomed members of Generation Z to join their teams.

The "2025 Southern Taiwan Career Fair" offers 11,000 job opportunities both domestically and abroad, with positions spanning diverse and interdisciplinary fields.
