NCKU and E.SUN Bank Sign Internship and Employment MOU, Offering Diverse Career Development Opportunities
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and E.SUN Commercial Bank, Ltd. (E.SUN Bank) joined forces to integrate academic resources and industry expertise by signing an internship and employment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today (5th) at the Innovative Teaching Workshop in the Yun-Ping Administration Building. This partnership aims to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, cultivate outstanding talents with a global perspective, and provide diverse internship and employment opportunities for both local and international students, helping them expand their career prospects. The signing ceremony was conducted by NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen and E.SUN Bank Chairman Nan-Chou Huang, representing both parties.
NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen remarked in his speech that last year , NCKU’s Phoenix Lecture Series specially invited E.SUN Bank Chairman Nan-Chou Huang to share insights on "Embracing Adversity and Cultivating Organizational Resilience." He was deeply impressed by Chairman Huang’s talk, particularly inspired by E.SUN Bank’s core values, which he also shared with faculty members at the university. President Shen highlighted that since the liberalization of private banks, E.SUN Bank has consistently maintained excellence in management, actively expanding its international presence by establishing branches in multiple overseas locations, demonstrating its strategic vision for long-term development.
President Shen further emphasized that universities should not be ivory towers but should actively engage with the outside world. As a higher education institution, NCKU is committed to cultivating students who are equipped to face future challenges, making internship opportunities crucial. He expressed his delight in signing this collaboration with E.SUN Bank, as it allows NCKU students, including both local and international students, to gain firsthand learning experiences and enhances their chances of joining such an outstanding company in the future.

He was particularly impressed by President Shen’s leadership philosophy, especially his hands-on approach in the early days of his tenure—personally walking around the campus, attentively observing its environment and development, showcasing his deep care for the university. He also highlighted that E.SUN Bank currently employs 162 NCKU alumni, all of whom have demonstrated outstanding performance, underscoring NCKU’s excellence in talent cultivation. With 33 branches across 11 countries, E.SUN Bank continues to expand its global presence. Through this MOU, the bank not only seeks to establish a robust internship platform but also aims to provide more opportunities for both local and international students, helping them enhance their competitiveness in the job market.
