EMBA Yue-Rong-Meng Club of NCKU College of Management Leads Rural Students on an NCKU Exploration Journey in Practice of USR
On March 28, 2026, the Yue-Rong-Meng Club (躍榕盟) of the NCKU Executive MBA (EMBA) program organized the "Pass the Love: Exploring NCKU with Remote Elementary Schools in Tainan" Children's Day event. Students from Cingshan and Ka-bua Sua Elementary Schools in Dongshan District, and Ersi Elementary School in Danei District, were invited to the National Cheng Kung University campus. Through guided tours, interactive experiences, and mentorship, the event aimed to broaden the students' horizons and enrich their growth, embodying the core values of higher education: social care and local contribution.
The event centered on "Rooting Education, Accompanied Growth, and Resource Sharing." Facilitated by the NCKU campus environment and the guidance of EMBA members, students from remote areas had the opportunity to personally experience the university’s academic atmosphere and cultural history. This exposure aimed to spark learning motivation and plant seeds of hope for their future, serving as a concrete practice of the Yue-Rong-Meng Club’s commitment to education and social responsibility.
The preparation received extensive support, showcasing NCKU’s ability to mobilize resources for social welfare. The event brought together students and faculty from three rural schools, alongside EMBA members, alumni, and their families—totaling over 200 participants. Key university figures in attendance included Pei-Fang Su, Dean of the College of Management, and Chia-Liang Tsai, Director of the EMBA Program. They were joined by EMBA Vice President Yi-Hsuan Chang, the 10th President of the Yue-Rong-Meng Club Su-Chen Ku, and dedicated club members and alumni. Principals Keng-Shun Kuo (Cingshan), Yao-Hua Gan (Ersi), and Chih-Hung Lin (Ka-bua Sua) also witnessed this meaningful exchange that combined education, companionship, and social practice.
The morning session was led by the Exploring Tainan Office, introducing the children to NCKU’s cultural environment and the history of Tainan. In the afternoon, alumna Li-Ju Huang from Taiwan Drone 100 organized an indoor drone interactive experience and dance sessions to spark interest in innovative technology and boost students' confidence. EMBA alumni participated with their families as "navigators," highlighting NCKU’s dedication to deepening the positive connection between the university and society.
Beyond the workshops, the organizers prepared Children’s Day gifts generously sponsored by alumnus Chien-Tang Huang from Show Ba (Xiao Bei) Home Center, ensuring the children left with warm memories. The event also featured a buffet, shrimp cracker ice cream from Anping Shop, and meal boxes from Ming Shin Pastry. Through group photos and appreciative exchanges, the children felt the collective care from the university, society, and local enterprises.
The NCKU EMBA "Yue-Rong-Meng" Club focuses on both personal growth and social responsibility. "Pass the Love" is a vivid demonstration of how members extend their professional learning into social practice. Moving forward, the club will continue to connect with partners and lead by example, investing in diverse educational care initiatives to create more hope and possibilities for the next generation.
