Synergy Correlation

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) College of Management EMBA participated in the Second SinoPac Cup National EMBA Case Competition, engaging in intercollegiate exchange with 24 teams from 16 universities across Taiwan. NCKU teams won the “Best Presentation Award” in both the “Social Enterprise Innovation” and the “Digital Transformation and Marketing” categories, demonstrating the achievements of the NCKU EMBA program in practical learning and team development.

The Second SinoPac Cup National EMBA Case Competition was organized by the Taiwan Federation of Business and Management Associations and sponsored by SinoPac Bank. The competition was held on April 26 at National Sun Yat-sen University, the host institution for this year’s event. Centered on real-world business challenges, the competition emphasized analytical and problem-solving abilities. Participating teams were required to propose solutions to assigned cases and deliver presentations followed by on-site Q&A sessions. The competition featured five categories, with NCKU participating in the “Social Enterprise Innovation” and the “Digital Transformation and Marketing” divisions.

In the “Social Enterprise Innovation” category, Team “Glory Consultants” from the EMBA Class of E116 represented NCKU. Team members included Chia-Hsien Wu, Tang-Yuan Chen, Su-Chen Ku, Kuan-Hua Huang, Chih-Ming Chou, and Tsung-Cheng Tu. In the “Digital Transformation and Marketing” category, Team “Nan Bowang Number One” from the EMBA Class of E117 competed, with members including Chien-Wei Chen, Chan-Hung Kuo, Shih-Heng Tan, Yu-Tzu Chang, Hsin-Ju Yeh, and Yu-Ching Huang. Both teams received the “Best Presentation Award.”The two teams underwent extensive and intensive training and repeated rehearsals, continuously refining and optimizing their work from case analysis and industry research to strategic planning, presentation design, and oral delivery. Despite balancing professional work and academic commitments, team members devoted substantial time and effort to preparation. Through multiple mock presentations and case discussions, they strengthened their logical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability, building solid practical experience throughout the process.

The EMBA student association “Yue-Rong-Meng Association (躍榕盟),” which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, has long been committed to supporting case competition training and has served as a strong support network for participating teams over the years. Association President and team member Su-Chen Ku expressed gratitude to Dean Pei-Fang Su and Professor Yu-Yu Chang for leading the teams in the competition, as well as to Professors Shao-Chi Chang, Hsin-Hui Chou, and Meng-Feng Yen, together with alumni from previous years, for their guidance and support. She also noted that the experience passed down by former association presidents and coaching teams enabled the participants to continue improving and maintain stable performance throughout the training process.

Since establishing its Case Center in 2009 to promote case-based teaching, the NCKU College of Management has regarded case competitions as an important extension of classroom learning, transforming academic theories into practical applications. Through the competition preparation process, participants not only deepened their understanding of industry and management issues but also developed communication, coordination, and decision-making integration skills through teamwork. The recognition received by both teams reflects the participants’ comprehensive growth in strategic thinking and presentation abilities.

The NCKU College of Management stated that it will continue to actively support student participation in national case competitions and diverse forms of practical learning. By enabling students to validate their learning outcomes in highly competitive real-world settings, the college aims to strengthen interdisciplinary integration and decision-making capabilities while cultivating senior management professionals equipped with practical expertise and global perspectives.
