Generative AI software ChatGPT and MidJourney have recently emerged as hot topics and have influenced the academic field in different ways. The lecture series and book exhibition will be held from March 13 to April 16 at NCKU Library, hoping to provide NCKU students and faculties with relevant knowledge and diversified perspectives on this wave of graphic and textures revolution, which will serve as reference information for follow-up. From March 13 to 30, the library will invite six professors from universities within and outside the university to give lectures on a variety of topics, including technology, design, applications, law, education, learning, and research. At the same time, 125 books on related topics will be selected from the library's collection and exhibited in the multi-functional reading area on the 1st floor of the Main Library until April 16. In addition to attending the lectures via webex, you are also welcome to visit the library and read the physical books.
The NCKU Library points out that the wave of graphic and textures revolution brought by Generative AI software such as ChatGPT and MidJourney has recently attracted the attention of domestic and foreign media and has been frequently reported by well-known authors. At the same time, universities in Taiwan and abroad are also thinking about the impact on education, learning, research, and academic ethics, and the need to respond to the policy or regulation, and to positively attract students and researchers to use it as a helpful tool.
The library of NCKU held this series of lectures and book exhibitions, and invited 6 professors and directors of teaching units from different fields such as information engineering, information management, intellectual property law, and visual design from National Cheng Kung University, National Taiwan University, National Cheng Chi University, Chung Yuan University, and National Yunlin University of Science and Technology to provide the faculties of NCKU with relevant knowledge and diversified viewpoints on the wave of the graphic revolution as reference information for subsequent response. The lectures will be held in 6 sessions. Five of the six lectures will be on Webex , and only one lecture will be held on March 28 in the multi-purpose reading area on the east side of the 1st floor of the Library.
