The 2023 Career Fair in Southern Taiwan will take place at NCKU with 14,000 job opportunities available for recruitment.
The National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) graduates are highly regarded by employers, leveraging their advantage in talent. In March, NCKU partnered with 11 other institutions in the southern region to host the "2023 Career Fair in Southern Taiwan," with 254 participating companies. From March 9th to 12th, a total of 52 company recruitment seminars were held consecutively at NCKU. On March 12th, the job fair featured 324 booths at the Kuang-Fu Campus, offering over 14,000 job opportunities, aiming to reach a new peak in annual recruitment demand.
To enhance recruitment diversity, this year's organizers specifically marked the demand for doctoral students in addition to local and international students on the website. They also arranged for five professional career advisors to provide one-on-one resume checks and editing services to job seekers, improving the attractiveness of resumes and enhancing their competitiveness. The organizers reminded attendees that pre-registration is required for company recruitment seminars, but there is no limit to the number of sessions one can attend. The job fair venue includes various locations at the Kuang-Fu Campus, such as the Chung Cheng Gym, Yun-Ping Avenue, the plaza in front of the Student Activity Center, and the west side plaza of the Yun-Ping Building. In the "2023 Most Preferred University Students by Enterprises" survey conducted by "Global Views Monthly", NCKU reclaimed the top spot for the ninth time. After a hiatus of two years, NCKU returned to the top spot in the 2023 survey by《Cheers》, indicating that NCKU students significantly outperformed in "willingness to learn," "resilience," "interpersonal communication, and teamwork." As enterprises accelerate digital transformation and pursue sustainable operation trends, talents in smart manufacturing, marketing technology, information security, green materials and energy, and sustainable management remain the focus of recruitment for many companies.
With the resumption of international mobility, many companies are actively recruiting international talents. United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) will set up a special area for overseas and overseas Chinese recruitment at the job fair, inviting supervisors and recruitment teams from factories in Singapore and Japan, and providing consultation services in Chinese, English, and Japanese. In addition to students with backgrounds in engineering and computer science, students with interdisciplinary expertise are also welcomed to join.
ASML, a well-known semiconductor equipment manufacturer, had over 4,500 employees in Taiwan last year. This year, they plan to recruit 500 to 600 more employees, with a highlight in recruiting "supply chain management talents." Apart from participating in company recruitment seminars, ASML will hold industry trend lectures and on-site interviews on the day of the job fair on March 12th, allowing talents to fully understand ASML from industry, company, and job-seeking perspectives. Furthermore, to provide job seekers with a more immersive understanding of the actual work at ASML, they have launched a virtual reality website called the "ASML Future Stars Training Program," allowing continuous interaction with talents through online means.
