The 2023 NCKU Autumn Campus Recruitment is set to take place this week on October 20 (Friday) and 21 (Saturday) at the International Conference Hall on the NCKU Kuang-Fu Campus. The event will feature recruitment presentations from 25 companies, including ASML, Realtek, Novatek, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), and E.SUN Bank.
As companies increasingly pursue continuous innovation and sustainable development, the demand for talent is undergoing rapid changes, and talent shortage remains one of the biggest challenges faced by enterprises. According to a survey and estimation of talent supply and demand in 19 key industries conducted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Ministry of Digital Affairs, Council of Agriculture (now Ministry of Agriculture), and Financial Supervisory Commission in 2022, out of 136 types of professional talents lacking in key industries from 2023 to 2025, the industries facing relatively difficult recruitment situations are mainly in the categories of "smart machinery," "textiles," and "precision health."
This year's campus recruitment event sees companies from the "semiconductor and optoelectronics industry" accounting for the highest share at 44%, followed by "electronics/electrical/telecommunications/software/networking industry" at 22%, and "manufacturing industry" at 15%. The overall talent demand is close to 1,800 individuals. From the perspective of academic disciplines, STEM fields account for 85%, humanities and law fields 10%, biomedical sciences 3%, and other disciplines 2%.
NCKU, known for its comprehensive university education, has long been a favorite among businesses seeking talent. In recent times, the university has actively collaborated with partner schools, enterprises, and research institutions to jointly cultivate professionals with the expertise and interdisciplinary skills required by businesses. This collaborative effort is expected to bring more diverse talent choices, allowing companies to find the most suitable candidates.
The event is organized by NCKU and co-organized by the NCKU Education Foundation. The recruitment event is open not only to current students but also to recent graduates and the general public. Registration is ongoing, and interested individuals are encouraged to visit the dedicated website for more information on the recruitment presentations by participating companies.
