Cheng-Kung Startup event concludes as NCKU's innovation center and Phoenix startup platform empower campus startups.
NCKU's Innovation Center and Phoenix Startup Platform co-hosted the inaugural "Cheng-Kung Startup Gathering | Equity Structure and Investment Attraction" on the 21st. Led by the Vice Director of the Startup Accelerator Center under the Innovation Center, Shih-Feng Chiu, the event featured a dynamic discussion involving three perspectives: startup investors, founders, and legal experts. Nearly 60 startup teams and students eagerly participated, exploring the critical impact of equity design on startup success.
Among various regulations, the "face value of shares" poses a significant challenge for both startup teams and investors. Equity design is a crucial aspect examined when communicating with investors. To help startups better understand equity distribution, NCKU's Innovation Center and Phoenix Startup Platform organized the "Cheng-Kung Startup Gathering." The event featured a lively three-way dialogue, departing from traditional lecture formats. Invited speakers, including Jifoo Group CEO, Chi-Fu Lin, Kdan Mobile Technology founder, Po-Chou Su, and partner lawyer at LiLaw Firm, Chun-Kang Yang, shared their experiences on precise equity allocation to attract investments, motivate teams, and protect founders' interests. They provided valuable advice to first-time entrepreneurs and startups seeking investments.
Phoenix Startup Platform organizer, Chieh-Hsin Yeh, expressed the platform's aim to leverage alumni resources to help potential startups transition from campus to the industry. Through monthly gatherings, they hope to facilitate collaboration opportunities among students, outstanding startup teams, and alumni interested in startups.
With nearly 60 participants, including NCKU's internal startup teams and enthusiastic students, the event showcased the rich entrepreneurial potential within the university. The "Cheng-Kung Startup Gathering" plans to continue hosting bi-monthly discussions on startup-related topics, welcoming all interested faculty, students, and teams on their entrepreneurial journey to join the conversation and grow together.
