NCKU's "Freshman Career Exploration" Series Encourages Newcomers to Plan Their Future Development Paths Early
Attention Freshmen! Have You Logged Into the Exclusive "NCKU FUTURE SUCCESS+ Personalized Career Planning System"? Are you unsure about what you want to do in the future? Do you wonder if what you’re currently learning is sufficient? How should you start building your resume for internships, employment, or studying abroad? This system will be your best assistant in gradually realizing your future blueprint.
In this digital age, student counseling services have also evolved and upgraded! Following the launch of the online platform "Office of the Fresh-Year Student" in July 2024 to assist with admission issues, NCKU introduced the "NCKU FUTURE SUCCESS+ Personalized Career Planning System" during the "Becoming a Cheng Kung Adult - Freshman Growth Camp" on September 4. This login event for new students encourages them to explore and plan their future career paths early, giving them a head start.
The freshman-exclusive login event received enthusiastic responses right after its launch. First-time users of the "NCKU FUTURE SUCCESS+ Personalized Career Planning System" found the interface very user-friendly. The system also offers suggestions for activities and general courses based on individual strengths and weaknesses, compiling various on-campus information such as course selection, activities, grades, and even photo uploads, resembling an automated "college version of a learning portfolio."
The "NCKU FUTURE SUCCESS+ Personalized Career Planning System" provides a one-stop service for career and academic information integration. This diverse system combines mobile and desktop interfaces, linking to NCKU's information announcement platform "KUAP" and an interactive learning portfolio, presenting a complete record of students’ course selections, life, learning, activities, competitions, and work. It also allows students to manually document their campus life trajectory, making it a powerful resource for preparing resumes and personal statements in the future.
As of the end of August, the "NCKU FUTURE SUCCESS+ Personalized Career Planning System" has fully launched. In addition to integrating the UCAN "Interest Exploration" and "Common Competency Strengths and Weaknesses Analysis" assessment tools, it has also introduced a much-anticipated information recommendation service. The system actively recommends relevant activities, courses, employment, and internship opportunities to users, making the service more convenient and user-friendly. For students seeking internships or employment, the system also provides a job vacancy query function to meet all their needs!
Starting in September, NCKU will host a series of "Freshman Career Exploration" activities, welcoming undergraduates, master's, doctoral students, and international students to register based on their status. The series includes workshops on career exploration for freshmen, lectures on defining a successful life, and essential information for FUTURE SUCCESS+. These activities will be conducted in both physical lectures and online meetings. With a new semester comes a new atmosphere. The first 500 freshmen who log into the "NCKU FUTURE SUCCESS+ Personalized Career Planning System" and complete the UCAN assessment will receive a welcome gift of a NT$100 voucher. Winners will be notified by email on September 18 and also announced on the Career Development website. The vouchers will be available for collection at the Club Expo from September 24 to 25.
