Dr. Euis Nurul Hidayah, a recipient of the Ministry of Education’s Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award
Dr. Euis Nurul Hidayah, an alumna of the Department of Environmental Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), was named a recipient of the 4th Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award. Today (7th), she returned to her alma mater to deliver a special lecture, organized by the Ministry of Education. The event aimed to inspire students by sharing Dr. Euis Nurul Hidayah's achievements and experiences on the international stage.
Dr. Euis Nurul Hidayah is a renowned environmental scientist specializing in drinking water treatment. After earning her Ph.D. from NCKU’s Department of Environmental Engineering in 2017, she returned to Indonesia and joined the National Veteran Development University in East Java as a professor. In 2023, she was promoted to Vice President for Academic Affairs. Her research in environmental protection and sustainable development has gained widespread recognition, and she has frequently been invited to participate in international conferences, where she advocates for the implementation of global environmental policies.
The lecture, titled "Seize Opportunities, It Shapes Your Future," saw Dr. Euis Nurul Hidayah share insights from her time studying and conducting research in Taiwan. Drawing from her own experiences, she encouraged international students to seize opportunities and make full use of university resources. Her return was not only a testament to her support for her alma mater but also a source of inspiration for current students, motivating them to pursue excellence and engage with environmental issues.
To honor the outstanding achievements of international alumni who studied in Taiwan, enhance interactions with these exceptional individuals, and encourage current international students to strive for success, the Ministry of Education established the Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award in 2018. This year marks the 4th selection of awardees. Among 11 recipients selected from across Taiwan, Dr. Euis Nurul Hidayah stands out as the sole representative of National Cheng Kung University.
