The Future Smart Factory Research Center of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and SinoPac Bank have successfully collaborated on the "Vietnam Retail Financial Digital Marketing Project," and the results were presented during a results presentation held from November 6 to 8. This project focuses on the local financial market in Vietnam, combining academic and industry efforts, led by the Future Smart Factory Research Center at NCKU. Through digital marketing, cross-cultural exchange, and talent cultivation, the project aims to support SinoPac Bank's brand promotion and market expansion in the Vietnamese financial market. The collaboration involved NCKU's Overseas Center in Vietnam (NCKU OH in Vietnam), SinoPac Bank Taiwan Headquarters, and the SinoPac Bank Ho Chi Minh City Branch, with guidance from industry mentors such as Kai-Tan Mobile Technology Co., Ltd., Good Work Studio, and Heng Yi Sheng Brand Marketing Design Consulting Co., Ltd. The integration of resources across finance, digital marketing, technology, and design has not only provided practical experience for the participating students but also fostered cross-national collaboration between NCKU and SinoPac Bank.

The "Vietnam Retail Financial Digital Marketing Project" focuses on three core objectives: cultural exchange and talent development, digital marketing and platform optimization, and the establishment of a talent database in Vietnam. The Future Smart Factory Research Center connected NCKU's international students with local students and faculty members from several top universities in Vietnam through the NCKU Overseas Center in Vietnam, including the University of Banking Ho Chi Minh City (HUB), Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology (HCMUT), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), University of Social Sciences and Humanities Ho Chi Minh City, Ton Duc Thang University, and VNU University of Economics and Business. Through this project, students from Taiwan and Vietnam, guided by mentors from SinoPac Bank and various Taiwanese industries, developed digital marketing and design skills, jointly planning marketing strategies and brand promotion platforms tailored to the local culture and market needs in Vietnam, fully showcasing the innovative value of industry-academic cooperation.

SinoPac Bank hopes to deepen its market presence through this project, gaining a better understanding of local consumer behavior and cultural differences through the participation of local Vietnamese students. The talent database established during the project will become a key resource for the continued market expansion of the SinoPac Bank Ho Chi Minh City Branch.

To ensure the suitability of the project team members, the Future Smart Factory Research Center collaborated with NCKU’s Overseas Center in Vietnam and several top national universities in Vietnam to organize the CIFI competition. From 80 participants, 15 students were selected to form the project team. After joining the project, these students participated in an eight-week intensive cross-national remote course, learning practical skills in digital marketing strategies, web design techniques, and platform optimization. With the support of cross-national mentorship, students applied their creativity and knowledge in the project, not only enhancing SinoPac Bank's brand promotion in Vietnam but also laying the foundation for their future careers.

From November 6 to 8, the project team members traveled from Vietnam to Taiwan for a results presentation event and engaged in in-depth exchanges with local industries. On the first day, they attended the final class at the Future Smart Factory, where NCKU's Vietnamese students were invited to provide feedback on the project optimization from the perspective of potential customers, facilitating communication between students from Taiwan and Vietnam. During the results presentation event, the team members also visited Kai-Tan Mobile Technology Co., Ltd. and Good Work Studio to observe the current development of Taiwan's digital marketing and technology industries, inspiring future career ideas. The team also visited the "2024 Taiwan Design Expo," enriching their understanding of Taiwan's culture and local design and industrial developments. Finally, the students presented the results of their eight-week efforts at the headquarters of SinoPac Bank. The Deputy General Manager of SinoPac Bank, Ms. Pei-Ru Tsai, highly praised the project, commending how the students' work aligned with local regulations and cultural needs in Vietnam, demonstrating the depth and professionalism of cross-national cooperation.

At the results presentation event, Dr. Yu-Pei Tsai, Executive Director of the Future Smart Factory Research Center, summarized the academic-industry cooperation project: "Using digital tools, we transform the creative thinking of young talent into tangible outcomes, while introducing data-driven technologies to provide innovative insights and strategies that lead to impactful change for businesses. This change requires strong cooperation among enterprises, mentors, education, and talent to jointly present solutions. In this academic-industry collaboration project with SinoPac Bank, we helped students realize that finance is the foundation for achieving a sustainable and creative future, and we encourage Generation Z talent to actively embrace cross-cultural experiences to enhance their global perspective and empathy for different cultures." Dr. Ngo Thi Minh Hien, Director of the NCKU Overseas Center in Vietnam and NCKU alumnus, specially traveled to Taiwan to witness the students' remarkable achievements and gave a speech: "Through this eight-week cross-national course, Vietnamese students experienced tremendous growth in professional knowledge and skills, while also experiencing Taiwan's rich culture—from Tainan's historical heritage to the metropolitan vibrancy of Taipei. This was not only an exchange of professional knowledge but also inspired Vietnamese students to embrace international challenges in their future careers with an open attitude."

The successful promotion and fruitful outcomes of the "Vietnam Retail Financial Digital Marketing Project" showcase the Future Smart Factory Research Center at NCKU's deep and continuous efforts in academic-industry cooperation and talent cultivation. The hope is that in the future, there will be more cross-disciplinary industry collaborations, providing students with broader internship platforms, and through diverse academic-industry cooperation models, collaborating with industry and talent to move towards a better future.
