The 2025 NCKU Bike Festival Debuts with the Theme "Dare to Navigate the Sea of Knowledge, Set Sail for Success"
The Bike Festival is led by NCKU students. Cycling is a shared memory for many NCKU students, which is why the event is named the Bike Festival, symbolizing the connection to the university. The 2025 edition marks the 18th year of the event. This year, the festival continues its collaboration with the CountryEDU Charity Foundation to bridge the educational resource gap between urban and rural areas. NCKU students will visit remote high schools supported by the foundation to introduce the Bike Festival and assist in recruiting and training department mentors for the foundation. These efforts aim to help local high school students learn more about university life. The CountryEDU Foundation also provides transportation, making it easier for these high school students to participate in the Bike Festival.
At the Department Expo, each department actively showcases its unique features, with alumni eagerly answering related questions. Some departments even organize campus tours and department experience activities. The Bike Festival organizers have also planned a variety of events, including the "Further Education Guide" series, which features talks such as "The True Stories of NCKU Students," "Professor Interview Tips Unveiled," "Admissions Experience Sharing," and a "Learning Journey Strategy Static Exhibition." To help high school students better understand university life and engage in self-reflection, there will be forums like "Campus Forum," "Scenario Puzzle Solving," "Bold Statements from College Students," and "Life at Crossroads," where industry experts and current students share their experiences. A special collaboration with the NCKU Art Center has led to the "Passing Light, Erasing Worries" exhibition. Inside the Art Center, there will be mood message boards, song listening sessions, and text-based healing areas, creating a deep sense of resonance. This exhibition aims to deliver warmth and inspire viewers to engage in meaningful internal dialogue, helping them let go of past worries.

NCKU, with 11 colleges and 46 departments, is a diverse, rich, and comprehensive university that allows students to explore the vast sea of knowledge. Since its founding in 1931, many have dedicated their efforts to the university, and its long history has paved the way for over 200,000 alumni who are making an impact all over the world. The reason NCKU is one of the most favored universities by enterprises is a result of these efforts. Vice President Chen warmly welcomed students to join NCKU.
Principal Cai-Goo Liao of National Tainan First Senior High School, who is attending the Bike Festival for the fourth time, pointed out that National Tainan First Senior High School and NCKU are geographically close and have a strong relationship. He expressed gratitude for the many ways NCKU has supported the school, and emphasized that National Tainan First Senior High School hopes to work together with NCKU to create a prosperous future for Tainan.
Principal Fu-Tai Chuang of Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Senior High School mentioned that about one-sixth of the school's graduates each year go on to study at NCKU, demonstrating a strong connection to the university. He noted that the Bike Festival offers a wealth of activities that not only help high school students become familiar with various departments but also provide them with a deeper understanding of university life. This allows students to adapt quickly to university life and choose what they love, while learning to love what they choose.
Zhi-Jia Chen, President of the NCKU Departmental Association, shared that he participated in the NCKU Bike Festival during his high school years. The various activities and planning of the festival gave him an in-depth understanding of university departments and helped clarify many questions he had as a high school student. Reflecting on his own path to higher education, he noted that he was initially unsure about what university life would be like. It was only after attending the festival that he realized there are many departments and fields to explore in the university, each offering unique opportunities.
Chen-Hong Wu, President of the Student Association, and Wen-Ting Fang, the Chief Organizer of the Bike Festival, expressed their hopes that high school students attending the festival would take the opportunity to explore themselves and better understand the resources NCKU offers. Qi-Xian Wang, President of the Social Club Association, reminded everyone that university life is not only about academics. NCKU has 175 student clubs, with many enriching activities waiting for newcomers to join.
The Bike Festival continues to grow year by year. Students and parents attending the event not only explore the Department Expo to learn about university departments but also actively participate in the "Further Education Guide" series. They listen to current students share their experiences preparing for the learning portfolio and university entrance exam application process. The "Professor Interview Tips Unveiled" session also proved to be beneficial for high school students. A group of 7 to 8 students from Wen-Hua Senior High School in central Taiwan shared that after attending the professor's lecture, they realized that professors want students to showcase their unique qualities during interviews and encourage them to confidently express their ideas. A parent from the Xinying District mentioned that although their child is only a freshman in high school, they brought them to the event to explore university departments early on. This way, their child will have more time to explore and prepare for their future.
