National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) supports the development of the sustainable co-creation platform exclusive to the NCKU community, the “Phoenix Entrepreneurship Platforms.” The annual meeting was held on the 6th at Taipei Huashan AAMA Co-Creation Foundation for Entrepreneurs. The event brought together co-founders, mentors, and startup team representatives to share experiences and achievements since the platform’s launch, actively promoting the connection and implementation of NCKU’s innovation resources.

The event specially invited co-founder, former Minister of Science and Technology, and National Taiwan University professor, Senior Fellow Liang-Gee Chen, to deliver the keynote speech titled “A Strategic View on Entrepreneurship.” He encouraged startup teams to build solid strategies between dreams and reality. He stated, “Entrepreneurship is a great way to realize your dreams and a challenging learning experience in life. Bearing such immense pressure helps you grow quickly—it makes your journey truly worthwhile.”

The closing remarks were delivered by platform co-founder and Qisda Corporation Chairman, Senior Fellow Chi-Hung Chen. He said, “We hope that one day, when people mention Taiwan’s startup origins, they think of NCKU. NCKU is not only a favorite among businesses but also the largest cradle for startups.” He also praised the platform’s growing impact over the past two years and encouraged more alumni to join efforts in nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs.

At the annual meeting, 12 startup teams from the platform took turns presenting their progress and achievements. Earthgen Technology secured investment and became a member of Qisda Corporation’s “Drone Fleet.” PECURA Technology, through the platform’s matchmaking, invited Senior Fellow Liang-Hsiang Lee to serve as chairman and successfully was selected for the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Value Creation Program.

The in-depth interactions between platform mentors and teams continue to drive results. Since joining the platform, WeGrow Agriculture, through mentor referrals, has connected with 12 investors and secured multiple collaboration opportunities, with an estimated total value of nearly NT$80 million. The student team “Devonian” from NCKU’s Dream Realization Program, under the guidance of Senior Fellow Zhi-kuan Yan, successfully launched their plant display cabinet product on a crowdfunding platform, gaining valuable entrepreneurial experience and building a solid foundation.

Launched in September 2023, the Phoenix Entrepreneurship Platforms connects NCKU alumni resources with campus startups to build a sustainable co-creation platform exclusive to the NCKU community. The platform has so far supported 23 early-stage startup teams with long-term mentorship and continues to recruit. NCKU campus startup teams interested in commercialization are welcome to join this exclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

In November last year, the Phoenix Entrepreneurship Platforms teamed up with NCKU’s Innovation Headquarters to hold a startup fundraising Demo Pitch at the “2024 Innovation Demo Day,” achieving the impressive result that over half of the participating teams secured investments. At the end of this year, they will once again unite NCKU’s innovation and entrepreneurial momentum to host the “2025 Innovation Demo Day,” providing greater visibility for promising teams and uncovering more innovative possibilities.
