Synergy Correlation

On March 21, 2026, the Muslim Students Association of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) hosted an Eid al-Fitr celebration, joining nearly 200 students, faculty, and staff from both on and off-campus to mark the successful conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. From the solemn prayer ceremonies to the international food fair, the event provided emotional support and a sense of community for international students. It served as a prime example of NCKU’s core values of diversity and inclusion, as well as its commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding and harmonious coexistence.

The event received high-level attention and support from various organizations. NCKU Vice President for International Affairs, Sun-Yuan Hsieh, attended the ceremony to deliver remarks. He expressed being deeply inspired by the self-discipline and devotion shown by Muslim students during Ramadan and reaffirmed the university’s goal of creating an inclusive environment that respects cultural diversity.

The celebration was also supported by the Bureau of Labor Affairs of Tainan City Government, the 1st and 2nd Service Centers of the National Immigration Agency in Tainan, the Tainan City Police Department, and the Taiwan One Thousand Social Welfare Association. Beyond strengthening the bonds among international students in Taiwan, this cross-departmental collaboration also facilitated the promotion of legal awareness, working together to build a friendly and safe social environment.

The NCKU Muslim Students Association stated that, with the support of the Office of International Affairs and various sectors, the event was a resounding success. It not only demonstrated NCKU’s determination to foster a diverse and inclusive campus but also promoted mutual understanding between Taiwanese society and Islamic culture. Moving forward, the association plans to continue hosting cultural events to contribute to campus harmony and solidarity.
