NCKU College of Engineering Holds Ceremony for Corporate Donated Special Research Scholarships
Six companies, including Raito Engineering, Tuntex, LEATEC Fine Ceramics, Sorex Welding, Han Tai Technology, and Ju Sing Resources Industrial, took action to support students of the Department of Resource Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) by generously donating special research scholarships. A donation ceremony was held on March 5th, symbolizing a new milestone in the collaboration between academia and industry at NCKU.
The Department of Resource Engineering announced that 12 students will be awarded special research scholarships, each worth 60,000 NT dollars, to support their research projects. This substantial financial assistance not only aids the students economically but also paves new paths for the integration of academic research with industry, demonstrating the unwavering support of these companies for education and technological development.
Dean Chyan-Deng Jan of the College of Engineering remarked in his speech that cooperation between companies and educational institutions is an indispensable force for advancing society and fostering innovation. Through such collaboration, companies can directly participate in talent cultivation and scientific research, while students gain practical experience to prepare for their future careers, resulting in mutual benefits.
NCKU emphasized that the corporate donations not only provide financial support but also affirm and encourage the potential of the students. By enabling students to focus on their research projects and drive technological innovation, these donations serve as successful examples of industry-academia collaboration, accelerating the application and development of academic achievements. With the support and resources from these companies, NCKU will continue to enhance its research and development capabilities, nurturing more engineering professionals with innovative spirit and practical skills, contributing to the nation's development and societal progress.
